- TBT BaberFeb 23, 20261.0While I have actually stayed in this hotel for years when we travel home, this WAS absolutely the last time ANY of our family will patronize them. The room was so dirty, we had to be moved. There was literally someone's panties on the mattress. We were "upgraded" despite being told they were completely full. The upgraded room had the air set on 60° and we could not adjust it. We were told that maintenance wasn't available. The room smelled like standing water. We used pillows over the vent to regulate the temp for the entire weekend. The fridge in the room was full of ice, so much so until we couldn't use it (pic included). As we were walking thru the dining room, something caught my sisters eye. Yes, a roach right there! Causing us to NOT partake of their breakfast dining, wasted perk. I felt bad for John at the front, he had to figure it out because the general manager, Margaret Duhe had left him and would NOT even call me despite saying she would. That is mostly why I decided to post this. Had she called, I may have reconsidered. @IHG and @Holiday Inn Express, please read my post and make the necessary adjustments.

Front desk went out of their way to help make our stay a pleasant one. Our stay was relaxing and enjoyable. The staff deserve 10 stars.

I find disheartening that this place would not give a room when they had the availability to do so because it is 6am. My husband has been driving from Texas back home to Florida with our kids and needed to pull off the road and rest. I have worked for this company before and while my experience with working with them was not pleasant either I was still giving this company the benefit of the doubt. While reservations and check in should yes hold true but what about those that are trying to be safe on the roads. A hotel is there for that reason too. While my husband didn’t catch the name of the front desk attendant they were not pleasant or helpful in anyway.
