The location is lovely and the service from the room service folks is absolutely fantastic. The service from vallet and the front desk is a little less than stellar, however. The woman at the front desk was on a video call and talking with a friend during our check in, using profanity in front of us. When I asked her if she was talking to me, she just replied "No." and kept checking us out. Not terrible behavior, in my opinion, but definitely not what I was expecting from this level of an establishment.
Food from room service is very largly portioned, so a good meal for the price. And the folks that provide room service are all southern hospitality and kindness. Fantastic service, especially the women who brings up breakfast. Her customer service skills are phenomenal and she definitely needs a raise! Haha it takes a special skill to be the first person someone talks to in the early hours, but she is so warm and easy going that I always shut the door with a grateful smile and starting my day off with some pep.
The rooms are nice enough, though the building is constrained by the year it was made, so you'll find the same amenities and maybe even bigger room sizes at any other more modern hotel. The room walls are very thin (like I heard the dial tones of someone calling someone else like there was no wall between us at all... It went to voicemail and we could even hear the recorded message lol). So you really just pay for the wonderful location and experience of being downtown.
That being said, for a special occasion, I would say it's a nice place to stay. Would I stay here instead of a quality inn or something half as expensive? Eh, maybe. But at a conference discount where the conference is happening inside the hotel? Heck yes.

Front office management needs to review their front desk associates’ customer service skills for both day and night shift. We felt unwelcome when during both checking-in and -out experience.
P/s: I read Hilton’s comments for all reviews and looks like they are all generic and will not provide any actual resolution.

Antique look. Nice but could have been better. Not a 4 star hotel as stated. Every time I visit, the windows are dirty and fogging looking. Needs to be cleaned. Can barely see out of them. Tub rusted and shower was broke. Couldnt even take a shower. Balcony had spider webs, which should have been cleaned when they cleaned the I side of the room. Staff was nice though. Got a room with a balcony to see the fireworks for New Years, but there were any on the river this year. That was disappointing but not the hotel fault. I get a room every year for New Years so it was very disappointing since this was the first year I got a balcony room.

Checked in New Year’s Eve, was looking forward to being on the balcony near the pool area to watch the fireworks on the river, but was told that the pool area closes at 10 pm!!!!!!!!!! The whole mood was spoiled, but I was able to watch it from my room that has a Riverview. Just not the same!!!

I was disappointed in this hotel. I loved that they didn't use scented sprays because I am so allergic. But the lady in the morning was actually rude to me on the phone for no reason. I asked for some extra coffee because my room was at least a mile from the front desk. She was very perturbed that I asked for that!! Then when I took a shower the whole place flooded. It was missing the seal on the bottom of the door. Don't they know this stuff? The valet was very nice and helpful though. For $200 a night give me a break.
