- NBNick BNov 10, 20251.0Over priced at $180 for one person and no heated pool but was advertised as having one. The building looks nice but do not be deceived. The counter person spoke with a thick foreign accent which was impossible to understand. The online booking through IHG was also a problem with constant upselling and showed a much lower rate than I was charged using an AMEX card. Even the snack machine M&M's were upselling at nearly $5. Other IHG properties have heated pools year round. This property could have also but even members are not getting any real benefits. The walls are very thin and their sports fans are loud too. The wall airconditioners are noisy. The tv's are small and the refrigerators are noisy. Very disappointed with the hotel management in Amite, LA. A better choice is an IHG property called Candlewood Suites in Southhaven, MS next to Memphis, stayed there one night before and their pool was very large, pleasant and warm and open and functioning. Shame on Amite for advertising a heated pool but closing it without proper notice. The hotel smells musty and the room doors do not seal, light passes through the edges and the bathroom vent is loud and can not be turned off. The bathroom door has a gap all the way around it as well. Ubereats deliveries in this area add $7 for going there. Impressively poor place to stay. Elevators are as slow as mollasses. Breakfast room marble floors were slippery and the chairs squalled like a train when people scooted away from the tables. The pancake conveyor pancakes were thin and rubbery. The hot water for oatmeal was literally 50ft on the other side of the room. If not for the bacon I would have written a scathing review. Do better IHG and leave the pool on year round or you are deceiving guests.

The hotel is very outdated, the carpets were dirty, and the entire place smelled like humidity. There was visible mold inside the sinks, and even the pillows had a damp odor. For the price $230 per night (and booked 2 rooms) this was unacceptable. I asked if I could be refunded for the second night so I could go somewhere else, but the front desk refused and made me feel like I was overreacting. I ended up leaving and booking another hotel. Definitely not what you expect from a Holiday Inn. The front desk manager from the night we arrived was kind, but bad customer service the next day.
