I had a terrible experience at Holiday Inn. The first room we were given was extremely dirty — there was a dead insect, the tables were not wiped, and there was hair on the bed and in the bathroom. The bed also felt very itchy. When my husband and I complained, we were moved to another room, but unfortunately it was just as bad. The bed was still itchy and the bathroom was not clean at all.
By that time it was already around 12 AM, so we had no real option but to stay. The hallway also smelled strongly like alcohol, which made the environment feel even worse. The lady at the front desk didn’t even make sure the rooms were clean before giving us the keys. I have stayed in many motels before, but this was by far the worst experience, especially considering we paid $150 for the night. Very disappointing and unacceptable for the price.
This was the best hotel we have stayed at for a long time. Everything about our stay was great. When we got there , it smelled and was so very clean. We were checked in to our rooms quickly by the most friendly and helpful clerk . The rooms were perfect and convenient for my 85 year old mother that doesn't get around to well. The price was very economical for us and we had no troubles getting into our rooms. We had a incident the next morning with my mother having a accident and ending up in the wrong room along with a few other troubles . The lady's there were so wonderful and helpful .they sat outside the wrong room my mom was in and made sure she was ok while I had to go take care of a few things in order to leave. I have never had a better experience while having a bad experience iny life. The staff here is incredible. I have to say the breakfast and the breakfast hostess were amazing as well. I will make it a point to stay here on my next trip and every trip afterwards and be looking forward to it !

UPDATE: I attempted to call Steven Cecil (the AGM) as he requested, left a message, and have not heard back over the last several days despite his comment offering resolution.
Worst hotel experience I've had in a long long time. The lady at check in was incredibly kind, but that ends the list of positives. There were black spots all over the pillows and sheets and small hairs in the sheets (photos attached), and when I mentioned this at check out, they acted like it was no big deal and "just our washing machine". No solution -- just an excuse. The WiFi didn't work at all, which they blamed on a "storm" (it never got more than a sprinkle). It smelled so strongly of paint in the room that I felt nauseous, and even though I requested and was granted a late check out to take an important morning meeting, they still pounded on my door and entered during my meeting. Again, I expressed this at checkout, and was told "yeah, sorry about that. I told them too late. We are still working on our communication." Again, an excuse with no solution, and horrible customer service. I should have gotten a full refund + IHG points for this disaster, and they acted like it was no big deal.

Awful experience
Arrived at 2030 with reservations, front desk was empty, rang bell and called phone. Nothing... few guys in the lobby, said good luck, took them an hour to get help..
Went behind the counter ans started looking for somebody, eventually did.
Reserved room was unavailable now. Settled for 2 queens.
Once in room,,,
blinds dont close all the way, so bright lights shine in
Air conditioner doesn't work, so its 75 degrees
Loud clicking noise in bathroom ceiling was awful
0200 drunks coming home yelling up and down the halls
All and all, an awful nights sleep
Breakfast was pretty good and coffee is solid

If you were to write a manual on customer service, send the writers here and have them take notes. We arrived early because the app said it was closer to our destination than it was, app said 29.4 miles to LMU and its actually 60 so we had to check in earlier to be able to arrive at our son's baseball game on time. They were extremely accommodating, our room was not ready so they switched our room and gave us an upgrade since we are Elite members. The manager was training a new employee and took the time to explain everything she was doing to her which is the way it should be done. The misinformation on the app is why I gave it 4 stars on location.
