We booked a room with king size bed for 4 nights. When we got to the desk talked to the lady behind it and was handed the keys to our room. Keep in mind this was at the end of June. So when we were looking for our room we found out that our room was on the second floor all the way back of the hotel. No elevators and my husband has back and ankle problems so it’s hard for him to go up and down those stairs. Not to mention how hot it was in the hallway. When we got to our room it smelled like musk and the floors were VERY uneven. Turned on the bathroom light and one the bulbs kept flickering. Anyway after we got most of our luggage up to our room we lay down on the bed for a few minutes. It was one of the hardest beds I have ever laid on. So my husband and I decided to see if we can switch rooms. Went down to the desk asked the lady if they had any rooms with king beds on the bottom floor. She said they don’t have any kings on the bottom floor they are only on the 2nd floor. Keep in mind she never said they didn’t have any kings beds available on the bottom floor. This is important to remember later. So we decided to suck it up and deal with it because it was to late in the day to change plans and we were tried from our drive. We had to go to Walmart to get an egg mattress for our bed which cost us $50. We put the egg mattress on the bed right before bedtime. The egg mattress DID NOT HELP!!! We laid in bed for maybe 4 hours and only got 1 hour of sleep in that time. We had enough and got up. My back was in so much pain that I barely could walk. Had to walk outside for a few mins to get my back feeling better. We decided to find another hotel and check out before 10:30am, so that way we only had to pay for one night. So we go to the desk to tell them what was going on and the man behind the desk said we have a king size bed on the bottom floor and went to check to see if it was ready. My husband and I looked at each other. Because the lady from the day before said all their kings were on the 2nd floor. Between everything that was going on with that crappy room and to find out we were lied too, we got upset but we waited patiently for the man to come back. When he came back he said they had a room for us and that we were welcome to check it out to see if it would be better. So we went to check it out and the room was a complete 180. So much nicer then the dump we had before but unfortunately the bed wasn’t much better and I was already upset so we told him that we would like to check out. Then when we talked about getting our refund for the nights we weren’t going to stay. He said he would have to still charge us for 2 nights instead of one because of their computer system updated everything at 4am, even know checked out time was 10:30 and we checked out before then. Anyway we didn’t have the energy to dispute this, so we took our losses and got the heck out of there. Now we have a inside joke about it not being the Best Western but the Crappy Western.
Would also like to point out when we were at our new hotel for a few hours already and went outside to dry off because they had an indoor pool (which really helped our backs to recover). We saw the guy that we talked at the desk, drove around the hotel we were staying at and left without stopping. No clue why he drove by especially since this hotel was in its own little area off from the main road but it was definitely creepy.
I gave the hotel a one star and the service a 2. I would of giving the service 1 star but the man behind the desk even know kind of creeped me out and only refund 2 nights instead of 3, was still trying to help somewhat and it wasn’t his fault the lady lied to us.

Wouldn't reply to third party site about a change during change window. Waited till window closed to contact third party site and say they would not change. Hotel is greedy and does not put greedy money back into hotel. Will explore better hotels for my 4 rooms next time. Attached is email from third party where hotel ignored communications with hotel. If hotel doesn't realize travel plans change they are in the wrong business
