- MWModern WinterMar 31, 20261.0I was moved to Candlewood from Hampton due to “room availability,” but no one notified me in advance, which immediately created a poor first impression. The elevator was out of order for my entire two-week stay. Traveling with a baby made this extremely difficult, especially having to carry a stroller and bags up and down regularly. Check-in was also unprofessional. The receptionist was very slow and spent time sharing personal issues about her husband leaving for her sister instead of focusing on getting us settled, which was inappropriate—especially late at night after a long day of travel. The room itself was not in acceptable condition. It had a strong musty odor, the sheets and blanket were stained, and the shower curtain smelled terrible. Housekeeping never serviced our room once during the entire stay. To make matters worse, after just three days, staff incorrectly claimed our reservation had ended—even though we had over a week remaining booked through a government rate. This created unnecessary stress and confusion. Finally, checking out was frustrating. It took nearly two full days and multiple calls just to receive a receipt. The only positive aspect of this stay was the location, which is convenient between Elizabethtown and Radcliff. Otherwise, this was a very disappointing experience, and I would not recommend staying here.
