Para ser un hotel antiguo tiene buena presencia. (es como estar en una película vieja 😁)

Held family Christmas party in Blue/Gold room. Staff was amazing, accommodations perfect, set up seamless, food delicious and price was worth it. Great place to accommodate larger crowd of 20-35 people.

Nice hotel. We came for a wedding in the Rathskeller Room, which was fabulous. The room was nice as well.
The main issue was housekeeping. We had our do not disturb sign on the door, yet at 9am they knocked and then came right into the room. It spooked us.

Staying at The Seelbach Hotel was a wonderful experience!
From the moment of walking in the lobby, it instantly felt like home!
Will was working the front desk, and kindly greeted and checked me into my room. He is everything you want when it comes to customer service! He was informative when I asked where would be a good restaurant to grab dinner and recommended several options in the area.
When we walked into the room, we were pleased with how comfortable the beds were and the amount of space that was offered. The bathroom was classy and provided a nice hot shower.
The hotel provides a piece of history so if you do stay here, make sure to explore around!
They leave the Rathskeller open downstairs when there isn’t an event going on to provide an opportunity to go back in time! The architecture is extraordinary!
There are several artifacts throughout the hotel sharing its rich history!
The other factor is the amazing location! You are within walking distance of the Mercury Ballroom, and 4th Street Live!
There is parking in the garage or you can also self park in the lot next door.
Next time you are in Louisville, do yourself a favor, walk into the Seelbach if you are in the area, and make yourself at home by booking a room for a memorable stay!

Don’t come here if you work for your money and are under age 50, employees will treat you like you’re a homeless person coming off the street and assume you’ll say nothing. Management will side eye you for your clothing despite it being 9am on a WEDNESDAY and it’s you trying to appreciate the history of the Seelbach.
My husband went downstairs just trying to find out if breakfast was offered and he was literally yelled at “WHAT DO YOU NEED” by an attendant. Then when he let that slide and asked if there was even coffee provided, he was told to go across the street. We were paying customers, not stragglers looking for handouts. We’d been excited to spend our anniversary here for months, even had our room upgraded for free by the hotel which had us overcome with joy, we planned for it and it would’ve been everything we wanted if we’d been treated better. We even turned down a lower rate at the Galt House BECAUSE we fell in love with the Seelbach when we’d visited for dinner a few months ago.
And for an industry bleeding money consistently every month and will continue to in the next year, hotels are not the move. You’re better off coming in for a tour, looking at what you’re allowed to see, and then leaving. It shouldn’t matter if I was a working class chump coming here for a special occasion we save up for, or if I was the child of a prominent Louisville businessman. We deserve respect period. Our Uber driver back the hotel after dinner barely even spoke to us and somehow he was more kind and hospitable than the employees at Seelbach.
not to mention, no fridge in the suite for our very expensive leftovers. I had to put my food in a bag and stuff it in the ice bucket to keep it from spoiling. I’ve stayed at many historical hotels as a historian and this was the most disappointing. I will not recommend it to my friends, family, or coworkers.
