Promised to be able to use a $1200 credit within a year and was lied to. Corporate won’t give us the time of day to solve this issue they just keep playing games about who is going to call etc. Avoid this entire hotel chain like the plague. They do not care about the hard working people that stay at their hotels one bit.

This is a must visit for anyone who appreciates historic hotels. It was a pleasure staying here as a guest and lived up to my expectations and exceeded them! The lobby, 2nd floor with the oak room and the rathskeller are absolutely phenomenal and I was so pleased to be able to have access to these areas. The architecture and decor is breathtaking. It's so beautiful, luxurious and a reminder of a bygone era where craftsmanship was just on a whole other level. Service was fantastic. Rooms were clean. Valet service was superb- Special shout-out to Miqdad who assisted us during checkout in the valet. Besides the architecture and decor, my next favorite Seelbach experience was at the bar. The vibe was dank, relaxing and a little dark. It was perfect and my favorite hotel bar by far and I've been to many! Extensive bourbon menu and the food was good too. Just a fantastic experience overall and another draw into getting us to stay here again. We would definitely consider staying here again and we had a lovely time here on our visit to Louisville.

Right on 4th Street Live with a cvs across the street. Single occupancy room with a queen bed felt 'old' and 'fancy' at the same time. Bathroom was spacious enough for one person at a time (unless the other person was in the shower/tub). Had a heater lamp in the bathroom that had been replaced with a white bulb to make the bathroom extra bright which was nice for putting on makeup. Bed extremely comfortable and everything was very clean. Visited the gym while I was there and was pleasantly surprised to see more than just a few ellipticals and treadmills (yoga balls, weights and rollers for stretching out your back as well). Used the text chat AI to ask questions which worked moderately well and when it didn't understand a staff member responded quickly. Each floor was keyed electronically to your door (so you cant randomly go to the rooms without supposing to have access.) Several homeless across the street or passing by but they don't usually approach the hotel at night (only when I tried to go to CVS). When I refused the request they made they politely walked on.

Right on the edge of Fourth Street Live and full of rich history, the Seelbach Hilton was a delightful place to stay for a recent conference. Great service, a lovely bar, and ice cold AC in the rooms, which is less and less common in 2025. Nothing but good things to say about this property; I will stay here the next time I'm in the area. Also - if you're able to spend 90 minutes or so with it, you should definitely take the hotel tour with Larry Johnson. He has many wonderful stories about the hotel and it's happenings for the last 100+ years.

I don’t leave negative reviews lightly, but travelers deserve honesty: this is absolutely not a 4-star hotel. The only reason I’m giving it even a 3 star review is for the kind front desk and restaurant staff — but that’s the only redeeming quality and that’s where the positives stop. Everything else is a bait-and-switch from the photos. The moment you walk in, you’re hit with a strong musty, moldy smell. The carpets are decades old, the rooms are grimy, and nothing feels properly cleaned. You would never want to walk barefoot here. The bathrooms reek of sewage, the air is stagnant, and the windows are filthy. If you have allergies, stay far away — this place will trigger them instantly. I switched rooms — one was smelly and dirty, the other was dark and depressing and equally musty. The entire property feels neglected, dated, and eerie. The glowing 5-star reviews are misleading at best. Management knows these rooms are nowhere near 4-star quality, yet continues to charge premium rates. It’s deceptive and unacceptable.
