Stayed there a month for business. Service was great. When room was cleaned the did a fantastic job, and did the extra touches that made it bearable to be away from home. Daughter sent a stuffed animal with me, housecleaning had it front and center on a fresh made bed. Rooms were spotless. If you need to be close to U of L this is the place to stay.

Ok, I typically don’t leave reviews, and I have stayed in a lot of last minute places, as well as those I made reservations. This one sure looked nice in the photos, however, it was runs down, dirty and in need of repair. Not to mention, in our group, 3 of our rooms needed bedding changes. They reuse bedding, without being washed between peoples stays. Nasty!!! Pulled back the cover and not only could you see the sheets had not been changed, the pillows stunk, and there was hair on the bed sheets. Gross!!! 🤢
This is absolutely unacceptable! Their cleaning crew is NOT cleaning! The bathroom had calling fixes on the broken mirrors, peeling wall paper, and broken tiles in the shower.
Breakfast… we went out!

We were in Louisville for the boys volleyball tournament. Everything started out great. Rooms are fine, basic home2 room. The breakfast was ok. They couldn't keep up with the guests and a lot of food trays were empty for a while. They ran out of plates and had to ask for more plates and bowls. The yogurt machine ran out so I had to ask to have it filled. The waffle mix had to be refilled several times. This hotel has a shuttle that will take you anywhere in a 3 mile radius. Our driver Faye was very nice, recommended some places to eat and things to do. Dropped us off at Kroger and picked us up. Really helpful. Our evening shuttle driver Will was wonderful. Gave us his cell phone number in case we had questions about getting around town or questions on restaurants. We had two other drivers that were nice and polite but I don't remember their names. Then comes Saturday. I went down about 9am to go do laundry. The clerk comes in and says the washer works but both dryers are broken. 2 washers, 2 dryers only 1 works. Ok. But he said I could go next door to Springhill and use theirs for free. Get my wet clothes and go to Springhill and front desk clerk says sorry they are all full but I'll call you when one opens up. We find a laundry mat and have the shuttle take us to it. In the meantime our room was cleaned but didn't empty the big trash can that was overflowing with our food boxes. We had to go dump it out. Then Saturday night after the tournament the shuttle comes to get us and this guy had his headphones on and wasn't very friendly. Opened up the shuttle door and it smelled like weed. He drops us off at the hotel and then takes us to get food. I called to get picked up about 45min later. We waited and waited meanwhile our food is getting cold. I texted my son to say we were still waiting for the shuttle. He was in the gym stretching that was by the front door and he said the driver had come back a little while before and was sitting at the counter snacking. He went to the front desk and said my parents are still waiting to get picked up. It took the guy another 5min to move and get out to the shuttle to get us. I know they had been busy and we weren't their only guests but it was snowing and 12° out so we couldn't walk back. An Uber was charging $34 to go a little less then a mile away. So we were kind of at their mercy. We get back to the hotel with our cold food and I ask for a late check out for Sunday. The clerk said I'd have to ask in the morning. Ok fine. Sunday morning I go down and ask, the clerk said she couldn't because they gave too many out the night before. I said I asked last night and they said I had to wait and ask in the morning. She shrugged and said she didn't know. Sunday we check out and the boys play in the tournament. My son's team mate was with us said he lost his uniform cover-up. We checked the courts, lost & found, his backpack and suitcase and still couldn't find it. This was about 3:30. I called the hotel to see if housekeeping found it when they cleaned. I called and the front desk clerk said hold on let me check. I was on hold for over 10min then I get disconnected. I call back and she said oh we got busy so I hung up. Really? Then she said I don't think they cleaned the room so call back tomorrow and see. I said we are still here at the Expo center if it's there we can swing by and get it rather than mailing it. She said oh hold on. After 15min on hold I hung up. They hadn't cleaned the room? Then why couldn't we get a late check out? Too many inconsistencies. I know it was a busy weekend for them but that's the hospitality business. The shuttle when it had a good driver it was good and convenient. The snow was lovely to see however I don't think I'll be back.

I had stayed here one night the week before and had a lovely stay, which is why I decided to stay here again when I came back to town the following week. Unfortunately, my second stay with them was less than stellar.
For my second stay, I got put in room 212, and the bathroom desperately needs an upgrade. The wallpaper had two corners that were peeling above the door; the tub faucet was pulled out of the wall several inches (but was thankfully still functional); the shower head was not adjustable because if I tried to move it, it would move from the pipe coming out of the wall (not the shower head itself); and for whatever reason, there were two body washes and one shampoo provided, but no conditioner.
I did alert customer service after my stay and they said they made a note of it. I knew I would be coming to town two more times over the next couple of weeks and asked if I could have a discount (either for this room or for staying with them multiple times) and they said the next time I stayed, they would guarantee to put me in a room with no issues.
Other than the room itself, the stay was fine. The breakfasts I have had at various Home2Suites have been great and included good proteins and potatoes along with the normal breakfast carbs. The location was perfect for me because it was very close to Churchill Downs.
Side note: there is a rather large divot/recess in a patch of pavement in the parking lot around the 3rd or 4th parking spot on the side of the hotel to watch out for.
