I travel the country for work and my Team frequent Holiday Inn. We were traveling through the area and me and a coworker needed a spot to sit down and work from our computers for 20-30 minutes. We often stop and ask hotels if we can use their lobby and have never had a problem. This time was different. We circled the entire building kind of confused because the front was falling down, not clearly marked and looked horrible. Not sure if they are under construction or what but that should have been my first red flag. I send my coworker in while I took a phone call and had him ask if we could sit in the lobby for a few minutes. He came out with an odd look on his face and told me they said it was okay, but they weren’t very happy about it. While he was inside I saw a guy in unkempt clothes with a vest all tangled up walking around the entrance with a hateful look on his face. Didn’t think anything of it. I walk in with my coworker to see what was going on and a lady met us at the door who could barely speak English. She kept asking my coworker if he had a room, in very broken English. I tried to take over as I’m his Team lead and explain the situation to her. She ignored me 2-3 times and kept badgering my coworker. I finally got her to acknowledge me and she told us the manager told her we could not use the lobby unless we had a room. (I presume the manager was Mr grumpy pants I saw walking around outside) I tried to explain the situation about us traveling and being frequent patrons of Holiday Inn and she could care less (if she even understood what I was saying). I asked her if I could speak to the manager to explain the situation and you would have thought I just severely insulted her by the look on her face. She was incredibly reluctant and hem hawed around so I got upset and told her if her and her manager didn’t want our companies’ business, not to worry, we won’t be back to a Holiday Inn. We drove 2 minutes down the street to Courtyard by Marriott where we were greeted by the sweetest lady who was incredibly accommodating and earned Marriott some new customers. We have a Team of over 4,000 nationwide. Goes to show how one poor manager can have such a negative impact on a hotels patronage and one good one can earn it. Thanks Marriott.

Bed Bugs!
We booked a room here for 6 nights during Christmas week. The staff at the front desk were very professional, especially Montez, he was great.
When we walked to our room, the hallways smelled of dampness and mildew. There were numerous fans throughout the hotel drying wet carpets. On the 4th night of our stay, my sons got very sick due to a virus or something (not the hotel's fault). We had to change rooms due to him getting sick all over the carpet of the room we were in. The staff moved us to another room that night. I had to take my sons to the ER and didn't return to our new room until about 3 am. We stayed in the room most of the day while my sons slept. That night, I looked on the bed and there were bed bugs crawling on the sheets of my son's bed. I captured one of the bed bugs on a towel and carried it (still alive) to the front desk and showed Montez. He agreed it was a bed bug, apologized, and gave us another room. We moved to the new room and it smelled very musty and damp. The blinds didn't work, the chair was peeling apart, and the carpet was sticky. The next morning I asked the lady at the front desk if I could speak to the manager about a refund. She said he was out of town for the holidays and he would call me on Monday. He did not call me on Monday. I reached out to IHG's direct messages on Facebook and was told the manager would email me. I didn't receive an email (or refund), or call. If they did call they did not leave a message and were probably screened as a spam call by my spam blocker. I'm not looking for a refund for my entire stay, but I don't think I should have to pay for a room that had bed bugs.
Today, I followed up and direct messaged IHG Corporate again and they replied:
"We received communication from our hotel management confirming they called you, identified the insect as a stink bug rather than a bedbug, noted two prior room moves due to vomit, and found no bug upon inspection of the third room".
I asked the food service manager if the hotel was usually as dead as it was when we stayed, he said it was. I told him it was probably because of bed bugs and showed him the video. He sent the video to the GM, who did not reply.
Worst hotel I've taken my kids to. See video of bed bugs we found in my son's bed (definitely NOT a stink bug).
Do not stay here.

Booked this hotel for location since it was close to our planned activity. The website and the app advertised FREE complimentary breakfast buffet. Upon check in they told us it would be $15 per person. We are disappointed we now have an extra expense for breakfast at another restaurant. You pull up to the back of the hotel and have to go around to the other side to check in. Not many cars when we arrived sot that made us nervous. The hotel seems like its being renovated the room was nice though. We'll pick another hotel next time due to false advertising.

This is a very old hotel, the rooms are semi renovated but still look old and depressing. The breakfast is the worse I’ve ever experienced in a holiday inn hotel, the coffee is horrible!!! Will never stay in this hotel again
