If you like Hilton brand, go a few blocks further into the downtown area. This is NOT the area to be. The walls and windows are thin so you hear every car and loud neighbor. This wall unit can’t figure out if it needs to be cold or hot. Supposed to have an indoor heated pool and it was freezing. There’s a “restaurant” that will charge for $15 for a small pizza and $12 for a grilled cheese with tortilla chips; unless you’re desperate, eat somewhere else. Bathroom is outdated. There is a decent sized per waste area, but there are homeless people everywhere. The hotel is surrounded by decrepit buildings with homeless walking around. For $50ish more, you can stay up the road and actually feel like a valued Hilton customer.

Our stay here deserves a review. We almost always use Hampton Inn as our go to hotel when traveling. We only live an hour and a half away and was going to Louisville to do the Mega Cavern. Decided to make a long night out of it so I got on our Hilton App to see if we could find a Hampton close by. Found this was only 14 minutes from the cavern.
Within 5 minutes of parking, having not gotten out of our truck, we were approached by a homeless man begging for money. I gave him a $5 and he walked away.
When we checked in, the staff were very nice. Then he ask to run our credit card for incidentals. Typical, no problem. Absolutely no issues in the evening.
Fast forward to breakfast the next morning. I drink tea and always bring my own, water container had coffee in it and coffee had water in it. Ask kitchen staff to fix. Took about 20 minutes for hot water. Went to get orange juice while I waited for hot water, again kitchen staff. Breakfast was not note worthy. Have had better at other Hampton Inns.
Went to get our things to check out and noticed the floor in the lobby was so dirty we were sticking to it.
Check out. Well let’s just say not good. Questioned why our check out price was higher than our reservation that we had booked. Was told, I’ll print you a receipt.
In the truck on the way home I noticed we were charged $19 for parking. Seriously, to park our truck in a lot that we paid to stay.
Wrote a review on Hilton site. Hannah Jones responded with this is now the policy for this location.
My response was simply this, if you choose to put a business in a high crime area and feel the need for security then that should be on the business not the consumer.
It has been 6 days since my response to Miss Jones and she has never responded.
My husband and I are seriously re-considering our relationship with Hilton.

I want to preface this review by saying I did not stay at this hotel, they were completely booked up. Also I am not usually one to write reviews, but this deserved one. I had been fighting with Holiday Inn all night over a bedbug issue. I eventually got desperate and began to drive to hotels looking for a room since it was after midnight and no phone operators would tell me about room availability that night. They all wanted to tell me about rooms I could check into at noon. I found this hotel on 11/15/25 around 1 am, and like I said, they were completely full. Timothy however was a godsend. He heard of my troubles and immediately got to work. He was calling other hotels looking for a place for my family and I to stay and he didn't let up until he found one. He managed to connect straight to front desks which I wasn't able to do, (probably due to my own ignorance) and he managed to find a hotel in about 15 minutes. I regretfully couldn't stay here, but I would highly recommend them. If they give customer service this good to guests they can't have, I can only imagine the quality of service they give to guests who are staying there. Timothy, if you read this, give yourself a pat on the back man, you saved me that night. If Timothy's boss reads this, give that dude a raise, or at least a hefty bonus, he gave me easily the best customer service I have ever received at a hotel. Quite possibly the best I have flat-out ever received.
