- LDLA DeesNov 15, 20255.0Booked back in July, I had been looking forward to meeting my best friend in Kentucky last weekend for the University of Florida versus University of Kentucky football game. Unfortunately, due to government-related disruptions, our flights were cancelled and our annual trip became impossible. Disappointed for many reasons, we reached out to the hotel we had reserved months in advance to see whether any portion of our payment could be refunded. Kayla, the manager, was exceptionally understanding. She promptly processed a full refund, listened to our situation, and expressed her hope that we would be able to visit in the future. Her professionalism and empathy made a difficult situation significantly easier. If we are ever in the area again, we will absolutely choose to stay at this hotel—where guests are treated as people, not just confirmation or room numbers.
