Nick was FANTASTIC! Hotwire made a mistake resulting in funds not being transferred to the hotel. Nick not only took the time necessary to speak with a Hotwire agent, he did so with grace, professionalism and he truly me me feel like we were ‘in this together’ to resolve the problem. Thank you Nick! Our room was clean, had nice ‘modern’ touches, beds were comfortable and this location is EXCELLENT for quick access to Mammoth Cave, Dinosaur World, Kentucky Down Under Adventure Zoo and much, much more!

I saw this was an older Holiday Inn Express but I never expected the smell that hit me when I walked in the front door. It was an overwhelming sour smell. I thought they had a flood or something recently. We were on the second floor and the smell was in the second floor hallway and in our bathroom. The Venetian blinds in the window in our room had slats broken out of it and the window was fogged over from a broken seal between the window panes. There was a big stain on the carpet about 18 inches in diameter in our room. The second floor hallway carpet had many stains on it too. I saw kids running back and forth in swim suits on the first floor leaving water everywhere, even in the elevator. Maybe that is where the sour smell was from?? The bed was too soft for our liking and felt like there was a plastic sheet under the regular sheet causing us to feel like we were sticking to the bed. I would recommend staying somewhere else!!

I travel for work and always stay IHG when possible. I booked ahead of time for a 1 night stay. All in all, I have had worse stays and I have had better stays. Upon arrival I felt like I was driving through a construction site but that is obviously temporary. There was an “away from desk” sign at reception when I went to check in and I ended up waiting about 10 mins before I called the guest services number. Listened to the phone ring until disconnection. A minute or two later the friendly receptionist returned and I checked in. I am weird about cleanliness so I always bring my own clorox wipes for surfaces and inspect all linens. My room has two beds and it was very obvious the sheets had NOT been changed on one of the two beds - complete with pet hair and what I can only assume is dirty paw trails. The other bed seemed clean so I didn’t feel the need to move rooms but I did call down to the front desk receptionist to report the findings so I wouldn’t get charged and again the phone rang until disconnect with no answer. I waited a minute before trying again and was able to make contact. They did apologize and offer another room. Only other complaints would be what looked like a lack of thorough cleaning with the amount of loose debris on the floor and comforter, visibly stained tub and towel(s) and a bit of a misty odor when the heat/AC is in use. The room itself is as pictured for the most part, although I didn’t realize there were adjoining room doors but I always love the IHG design of hanging hooks for bags and space for luggage. I would probably expect better maintenance/cleanliness for the rate and I would probably stay again but I’d definitely be inspecting the linens.

I had an absolutely amazing stay at this Holiday Inn Express! From the moment I checked in, the staff made me feel welcome and valued. The rooms were spotless, the beds were incredibly comfortable, and the shower pressure was exactly what I needed after a long day of exploring. The complimentary breakfast had a great variety and was well-maintained. It’s also perfectly located for anyone visiting Mammoth Cave or Kentucky Down Under. I’ll definitely be staying here again next time I'm in the area!

SAFETY HAZARD - Tampered toiletries and zero management I am beyond disappointed with our stay at this location. We had a major health and safety issue that was completely ignored by staff. • Health Hazard: My family experienced allergic reactions after using the body wash in the shower dispenser. We use Dove products at home regularly, but the substance in this room was clumpy, separated, and appeared to be tampered with or replaced with a different product. • Management is Non-Existent: We attempted to speak with a manager every single day of our stay to address the health concern and a severely clogged bathtub drain. We even delayed our departure this morning to try to catch someone in charge. We were repeatedly told no manager was available, and the staff offered absolutely no help or remediation. • Maintenance Issues: The bathroom was poorly maintained; the tub drain was so clogged that water pooled during every shower, which is unsanitary and frustrating. As someone who travels frequently, I have never experienced such a blatant disregard for guest safety and basic hygiene. I would strongly advise staying elsewhere until they address the integrity of their products and the lack of management oversight.
