Hotel staff was amazing! Kayla was so welcoming and friendly, she was able to help me check in seamlessly and was very understanding. I showed up very early due to travel plans changing, Kayla worked to see if she could get the room set up earlier and kept me up to date on everything. Staff made it feel like home. Nice gym, pool, and a huge kitchen. Location was very convenient as well.

I have stayed at numerous Holiday Inn Express properties over the years. This HIE does not come close to meeting the minimum standards I have learned to expect. The staff was friendly and helpful but physical facility is in need of a major upgrade. They were under staffed and out room was not ready for check in until after 6PM, which they explained and we were OK with. The lobby and breakfast area was OK but that is where it ended. Our room 321 was in terrible condition. The carpet was badly worn even with a large hole in the carpet in the middle of the floor. The bathroom was in terrible condition. The tile floor was cracked and the sub floor was not stable. I was surprised the tub and toilet had not fallen through the floor. I caulking was sloppy with exposed seams. I have stayed in low budget rooms that looked better than this room.

The thing I want to highlight the most are the accomodating staff. I'm going to start with Bianca, she went up and above to help my 89 year old Mother with a hotel issue, she made it happen, thank you dear! The other wonderful ladies were Kayla and Miranda, keep up the fantastic job with troubleshooting issues and sincerely wanting to help Mom and I, sorry I didn't see you again! You run a tight ship keep it up! I don't know names but the maintenance guys are constantly working, good job! And last shout out to the breakfast lady, I can see the pride you take and I sincerely appreciate it! Anja and Ingrid

I have stayed at this location several times before working out of town with employees. I booked a King bed with two queen bed suite on October 2, 2025 on the IHG iphone app and was sent a confirmation with the details that matched what I booked. I arrived on October 4, 2025 around 11:30 pm after working a 16+ hour day in Whitesburg, KY, to check-in to the suite that I booked. I was told by the employee at the desk that the room that I had booked is not available because the housekeeping did not clean it. I was also switched to a "king suite with sofa" without my knowledge or confirmation. I was offered a "king suite with sofa and a cot" for the same price that I had paid for the original "King suite with two queen beds". I'm sorry. NOT THE SAME THING. I asked to speak to management and the employee would not oblige. I was told that management would not be available until Monday morning. This is unacceptable. I stay at several Holiday Inn Expresses throughout the year. I am currently a "Gold Elite" member and this is how they treat you. The front desk employee told every "corporate level case manager" that the rooms were already booked. Again, he told me that housekeeping had not cleaned said room. Stay at your own risk.

I’ve stayed at this hotel over the years for various reasons. However, I have seen a major decline in the rooms. This weekend my sister and I stayed there for 2 nights for a wedding. The staff were very friendly, however the rooms were in poor conditions. When we walked in the hotel it smelled like mold and mildew. The first thing we were told was about the breakfast buffet and the variety of foods they offered, however when we went for breakfast the next morning at 8:50 a.m. pretty much everything was gone. The chair in the room was very disgusting. I told my sister to not sit anything in the chair and that I’d go get a sheet to cover it if she needed to use the chair. I checked the bed for bugs and luckily the beds appeared pretty clean. The bathtub had several cracks in it and apparently the water faucet to the tub had been switched so I had to go to the front desk to figure out how to get warm water. The television was the size of a computer screen, but the room my husband was in had a much bigger tv. The wallpaper and curtains looked pretty rough and stained. Our room key stopped working about 4-5 times while we were there and we were only there to sleep because during the day we were doing things for the wedding. When we needed towels we were told twice they didn’t have any towels clean and on our last day I was given a hand towel to dry off with. But, within a matter of minutes house keeping came to our door and handed us a towel that appeared to have came from another room. It wasn’t folded or anything. Overall, this wasn’t the worst experience, however I won’t be staying here anymore until some upgrades are made.
