  *UPDATE* Last night was our 1 and only night I will be staying here. We are checking out due to a very intense sweage smell coming from the bathroom as well as puddle of mystery liquid in the bathroom. When I told the front desk I wanted to check out and could I have a refund he called the manager because he couldnt issue the refund himself. I asked him to get the manager back on the phone because i have seen similar reviews where the manager never issues the refund and now he simply cant be reached. No other rooms were avaliable or clean apparently so moving to yet another a new room isn't in the cards. Managers name wont be given and their sign that is where the manager on duty is supposed to have their name is blank.....seems like this is a ongoing issue with this hotel. Still working to get a refund and currently leaving the room. This is a shame. I really liked holiday inn. But this one really opened my eyes to how horribly they are actually ran. *first review* Holiday Inn express used to be my number 1 go to hotel. But this one definitely ruined it for me. My first room was fine but then while taking a shower the handle fell off not once, not twice bur about 5 times. Having two little kids im not about to let them take a shower with their heads under the water for this thing to fall off and Crack their skull. Because yes it is heavy. So I asked rhe front to change rooms. Which they did with no issues. However the new room im in looks like its the standard party room. Splatters of old drinks on the walls, handprints and various other scuff areas. The window shades have been ripped out of the wall several times with new holes drilled all around without any patching done to the actual wall. The toilet seat is all wobbly and when you sit down it bands so hard it sounds like its going to Crack the tile. It also doesn't flush properly....or half the time at all. And to top it all off there is some big yellow stain on the bedding accompanied with what looks like boogers. The bedding definitely wasn't washed. I called the front desk to bring me new clean bedding and I got some but the staff had a funky smell to him. I understand shifts are long but deodorant is important. This is night 1 of 2. If I could cancel and go to the fairfield right next door I would. Only thing good here is the bed, so far it seems comfortable. I would not recommend this hotel to anybody.

  Made a reservation for a three bed suite; two queen beds and a pullout couch, and was notified the pool was open. Upon arrival, was told my room did not "exist" at this property, that the pool was closed, and was provided with a "king suite" that had one bed, a pull out couch, and a shower. When asked for other accommodations, I was told this hotel cannot provide anymore than a "two bed room" and that is was not their fault, but the booking site, which shows they are unable to accept responsibility, and accommodate guests who unknowingly reserve a room. When asked about better accommodations for my two children and I, management told me about the other hotels in the area. For anyone looking for a place to rent in Bardstown, I would suggest one of the other hotels they suggested to me, as the other hotels are more likely to provide better customer service and accommodations, per Holiday Inn Express staff. Other hotels besides the Holiday Inn Express are the same price and more customer friendly as long as you book online.

  Excellent Stay – Highly Recommended! I had a wonderful experience during my stay. Check-in was quick and smooth. Every employee I interacted with was friendly, professional and eager to help. My room was spotless and comfortable. Overall, this hotel exceeded my expectations in every way. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and outstanding service.

  I had such a lovely stay here! The hotel was clean, comfortable, and surprisingly quiet, which made it perfect for a little getaway. The room itself was spacious and well-kept, with comfy beds and everything we needed for a relaxing night. Staff were friendly and helpful from check-in to check-out, which I always appreciate. One of the best parts was the indoor pool — super clean, warm, and perfect for unwinding. It’s definitely a highlight of the hotel and such a nice bonus, especially during colder weather. Overall, I’d absolutely stay here again. Great service, cozy rooms, and that indoor pool alone makes it worth the visit! Highly recommend for families, couples, or anyone wanting a comfortable stay.
