I would not recommend staying at this Best Western location. I’ve stayed at other Best Westerns in the past without issue, but this particular location fell short, mostly due to poor customer service from management.
I was passing through Pratt on my way to Arizona from Wisconsin when my car broke down. As a solo traveler with my cat, I booked this hotel because it was nearby and advertised as pet-friendly. I stayed for two nights and needed to extend my stay by one additional night due to unexpected delays with my vehicle repair.
When I approached the front desk, the manager on duty (lady with long brown hair, possibly Hispanic) was very dismissive and rude. She told me there were no available rooms and that they needed mine for incoming reservations and that I needed to be out the following morning. Assuming what she claimed was true, I understood that there was nothing she could do. However, her tone and lack of empathy were unnecessary given my situation.
When I asked if she could recommend any nearby pet-friendly accommodations, she responded with a scoff and said "I didn't know you have a cat. Did someone tell you about the pet fee??" , even though I had already disclosed my cat at check-in and was aware of the fee. This interaction felt unprofessional and unnecessarily confrontational.
Shortly after, when booking a new hotel, I found multiple rooms listed as available for the same dates I needed on their website, which made the situation even more frustrating. I chose not to pursue it further and instead booked a room at Quality Inn across the street, where the service was significantly more understanding (and half the price).
The following morning, I awoke to a checkout reminder call at 9:45 a.m. for an 11:00 a.m. checkout, which felt excessive and unwarranted (I know it was from the same lady because she was the only one at the front desk when I was loading up my car). She did not say anything to me the whole morning, even when I gave her my room keys at checkout. It was very unwelcoming.
Additionally, housekeeping attempted to enter my room without knocking on my second day there, but the deadlock prevented them from opening the door fully. I saw them walking away through the peephole after quickly closing the door. I double checked to make sure the DND sign was on my door, and it was. So I'm not sure what happened there.
While most staff members were kind, the overall experience, especially with management, was disappointing. Based on both my experience and similar feedback in reviews and what I later heard from others in town, this appears to be an ongoing issue.
Overall, I would recommend considering other nearby options.
