We are happy to welcome you to the Holiday Inn Express Ottawa. Our hotel is located just south of Ottawa off of exit 183 of Interstate 35. Conveniently located within an hour drive of Kansas City, Topeka and Lawrence, Ottawa is situated along the Marais des Cygnes River and is the County Seat of Franklin County.
Our hotel is located just 2.5 miles from Ottawa University and also less than 5 miles from Neosho community College. For those traveling on business we are within a 15 minute drive from the Northeast Ottawa Industrial Park home of the Walmart Distribution Center, American Eagle Distribution Center, Kalmar USA, Schuff Steel, Midwest Cabinet, Inc and MAC Fasteners Inc.
Traveling foodies shouldn’t leave town without trying Smoked Creations or PrimeTime Grille, which is famous for its Kansas cuisine. Located 3 miles from downtown Ottawa, visit the Old Depot Museum, and the Carnegie Cultural Center, as well as the historic Plaza Grill and Cinema, which is the oldest purpose built cinema in America. We are also located less than 2 miles from AdventHealth Ottawa.
Our clean and comfortable rooms are perfect for those traveling with family, but also have plenty of work space for those needing to do business while on the road. Our hotel features an indoor pool, a fitness center as well as 1100 square feet of meeting space on the 1st floor.

The service was top-notch, the room was spotless, and the bed was incredibly comfortable—one of the best nights of sleep we’ve had while traveling. The breakfast truly sets this hotel apart. Not only was it delicious and well stocked, but they had real bacon, which was a huge win and something you don’t always find anymore. Everyone on staff was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely kind, but Leslie at the front desk deserves special recognition. She went above and beyond to make us feel at home and was an absolute pleasure to interact with. This hotel has earned our loyalty—we will definitely be back every year. Highly recommend to anyone passing through or staying in the area!

A thoughtful touch when these hotels usually feel clean, but can seem clinical. -- Air conditioner in our room seemed to need serviced. It ran most of the night at the lowest setting and never got the humidity out of the room, even though outside temps had dropped into the mid 40's in October. -- Shower water pressure was very low, even when showering at 6am on a Sunday. And our shower base had some peeling caulk and looked like it had some mildew happening. -- The lobby coffee machines have pretty good coffee 24/7. And the cinnamon roll I had for breakfast was up there with the best I've had. -- Sleep - The bedding isn't as good as Hampton Inn's. The bottom sheet moved around and the comforter needs more weight to it. And the smoke detector on the ceiling had a green strobe that blinks continuously. -- I'm 50 years old and for $200/night it just seems expensive to me for what it is. At this price point, I still prefer the Hampton Inn.
