  I had a very frustrating experience at Best Western Plus KC Speedway Inn & Suites and would not recommend staying here. The day of check-in, I called around 11:30 AM to ask about early check-in. The representative told me to call back at 12:30 and that he should have a room ready by then. We arrived around 12:35 PM after being awake for over 30 hours, hoping to get some rest before our son’s event at 3:25 PM. When we arrived, we were told early check-in wasn’t possible because the hotel had been fully booked the night before. After explaining our situation and deciding to wait in the lobby, the representative hesitated and then said he might be able to get us in within 25 minutes—for an additional $40 fee. At that point, we agreed because we were exhausted and just needed sleep. About 15 minutes later, he said a room was ready—but then casually mentioned the pool was closed. This was never disclosed when booking through Trivago, and the main reason we chose this hotel was for the pool and water slide for our kids. I asked if the early check-in fee could at least be waived due to the inconvenience, and he refused. It got worse. We were checked into Room 316, went upstairs with our belongings, and found that the room was still occupied and not ready. We had to go back downstairs, where the representative admitted it was a mistake and said we shouldn’t have been checked in early anyway—even though we had just paid extra for it. We were finally placed in a different room around 1:30 PM, leaving us barely any time to rest before we had to leave again. Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing. Poor communication, lack of transparency (especially about amenities), and no effort to make things right. Save yourself the stress and look elsewhere.

  Absolutely WOW!! The rooms are tiny. Not at all like other Best Westerns. They regulate the power to the AC's to save money. Which is my main issue. I cannot sleep covered in sweat. The guy that works at night, Chris I think is totally clueless to a lot of things. I don't think this is the job for him. I had to go to my car and sleep just to get AC. I will never stay at this location again.

  💔POOL CLOSED, BUT NO BED BUGS❤️ Listen… I would give this place 5🌟, BUT the POOL/HOT TUB are CLOSED until who knows when 🗓 😩And let me tell you—that was the whole reason I booked this hotel. So learn from me: if swimming matters to you, ☎️CALL FIRST before you book… especially if you’re using a non-refundable site like BREK (ask me how I know 🙃). Now technically, they’ll let you go swim at a sister hotel 15 minutes away… but respectfully…🙅‍♀️ I am NOT driving around in a wet swimsuit like some kind of soggy Uber passenger 😂 I barely want to walk back to my own room wet, let alone get in my car! ★🏆☆BUT—credit where it’s due:☆🏆★ 👏The location is great, literally in the middle of it all!! 🏁🏎 👏The lobby is beautiful, with a fireplace right as you come in, and a wonderful little BAR tucked in corner!🍸 👏 Front desk staff = absolute gems💎 So kind and helpful🙌 👏 Room = 🥰VERY clean (and most importantly… NO BED BUGS 🙌 because that’s my #1 fear in life)😱 👏 Microwave + bigger fridge = we love a practical moment 👏 TV = HUGE with tons of channels, and AV hookups!! Win for us, because clearly I had extra time since… no pool 😅 Also heads up: show up early and they might hit you with a $25 early check-in fee, so plan accordingly. 👏The bed was CLEAN, NO CRITTERS, and comfy, could have used a couple extra pillows, 4 wasn't enough for us to sit in bed & watch TV, but plenty to sleep with. (Extra pillows are available thru that amazing front desk staff though!!) Overall: great stay, just slightly betrayed by the closed pool situation 😂

  I was grateful for a room late at night when my flight was delayed. The staff was accommodating, welcoming, and I felt safe. Parking was easy to access. Coffee was hot, and the breakfast was adequate, but healthier options would have been appreciated. The location gives this property tremendous potential, but the vibe was not the advertised 4-star. The lighting was harsh (blue/white 4k-5k), giving the space a parking-lot security feel, as if they got a bargain on light bulbs without thought to how they would feel to experience. Bulbs weren't consistent from area to area, so there was a polka dot effect; some were blue/white (hallways and rooms), and others at the front desk, a warmer, more comfortable 2.700-3000 K tone. Those that had been replaced varied. Consistency matters for a polished look. The room was poorly lit, and I ended up using my phone's flashlight as a bedside lamp. The room was overly hot, and, as another reviewer noted, no instructions were posted or shared advising that controls are only operational on the wall. The shower head was installed so high that I would have needed a chair to adjust the spray. The toilet was uncomfortably short, as if from someone's childhood. The "luxury linens" were microfiber. Seriously. Hot and unbreathable. Decor was Tuscan, in serious need of an update. I can't imagine paying NASCAR-event pricing for this experience.
