Then I pulled the shower curtain over, only to find someone's dirty wash cloths hanging from the rod between the folds of the shower curtain. Please tell me how this shower was cleaned without ever moving the dirty shower curtain. This made me investigate further, only to find a hand towel with someone else's makeup on it, and that indeed our bedding was dirty. The sheet had been flipped over from the last guest. While this may be an employee issue, it's also a management issue. Original Review - We've stayed at many Best Westerns, to include a previous stay with this location. This stay was not great. The room was not very clean. I question if the sheets were even changed. This bed, it's the worst. I doubt I even got three hours of sleep. Not impressed.

Rooms were clean, breakfast was good, located right off I70 but still quiet, just a few minutes to downtown and dog friendly. If you like history like me, taking time to visit Fort Hays Historical Site is a must. Even if you're not, it's still interesting enough.

I would say that wasn’t the greatest best western plus I’ve ever stayed in, but it was fine. I’m a little picky so if you aren’t picky my guess is that you will be plenty happy with it.
- WMWilliam MillerNov 1, 20253.0We really wanted to love this place after reading so many positive google reviews, but it wasn’t all it’s cracked up to be. The breakfast was decent and they did have an espresso machine, however I was disappointed that a message popped up that it needed to be cleaned. The room was ok, seemed clean and bed was moderately comfortable. The bathroom had a paint peeling from the ceiling and needed some work. Also there was a patch of water damaged drywall next to the tub that should have been replaced before renting the room. The pool area had a strong smell of mold and there was indeed mold on the grout underneath the hall windows and on the ceiling above the door that led outside. In the lobby all of the hanging light fixtures were full of bugs. Not the worst place I have stayed, but with some work this could be a really nice hotel.
