  Went to check in and no one came to help but I could hear a girl talking on the phone and laughing in the back but it took several minutes before someone came to help me check in. Whats even worse is when I did finally receive help Vanessa seemed completely uninterested and unenthusiastic about helping me as if my presence was a burden. Great location well kept, needs better staff.

  **As of 4/4/26 hotel is currently being renovated and some rooms may not be available when checking in. Also, expect construction, paint, etc throughout during the process. Service would be lower than a 4 if it wasn't for Danielle (sp?) who was working the night we checked in. Thank you, Danielle, for the help and hospitality in finding us another option that worked. Unfortunately the room we booked on the website wasn't available as the floor it was on is currently under renovation. Actually the entire hotel is being renovated and there was no notice of this prior to. Had we known this we would have stayed somewhere else. And I could be a little harsh in my review as this is the last of 7 hotels for us this week as we end our trip. But it was the worst hotel experience we had during our trip throughout South Dakota, Wyoming, Colorado on the way back home to Illinois. Not saying the hotel was bad necessarily, just that we had surprisingly very good experiences in other roadside hotels over the week and this one didn't match up or meet the expectations set by the others (cleanliness, service, breakfast, availability, overall accomodations). Despite the renovations going on, the room was very quiet and spacious (two queens). Just wanted to highlight this as we weren't sure what to expect given the construction going on. Aside from usual car traffic outside, was very quiet. Breakfast didn't have the offering the previous hotels did, and unfortunately many of the items were cold but we were able to heat them up using the microwave. Again, still plenty of options to choose from and the kids really liked the French toast sticks which was a first for this trip. But we were spoiled at competitor locations in other states so not really a fair assessment. Front desk staff the morning we checked out seemed preoccupied and annoyed to assist and was nowhere near the same as Danielle when we checked in. Just want to give her one last shout-out. We've stayed at other Best Westerns in the past and had very good experiences which ended up being better than expected. Unfortunately this one wasn't the same overall and hopefully once the renovations are complete, the experience will be better.

  Disappointing stay. Very average rooms and facilities. Our last stay there we thought the breakfast was above average, this time it was way below. Out of everything or not working right at prime breakfast time. Pool area / pool patio need attention.

  I wanted to like this hotel because of the past reviews, but once we got into our room we found clothes left in the closet from previous customers which doesn’t make you feel like the room was cleaned well. The room had a heavy bleach smell and there was a scary stain in the bathroom that wasn’t wiped up. We didn’t bother with getting a refund for going to another room. We went next door to a different hotel.

  We’ve stayed here many times over the years but this place has really gone downhill. The building and rooms really need some TLC as other reviews have stated. The north entrance door of the building isn’t even latched or secure as it should be. The pool and pool bathroom were really dirty and need cleaned. The gate on the patio outside of the pool is blowing around freely and could be a safety issue. Everything was out at breakfast the two mornings we were there. The coffee machine wasn’t working, the yogurt machine was out and food wasn’t stocked. A great hotel in the past but really needs some attention.
