  A little off the beaten track for a downtown hotel...

  I stayed here for three nights, and overall the hotel was comfortable and located close to Purdue campus. The room was clean, and most of my stay was quiet and satisfactory. Unfortunately, the last night was extremely noisy due to other guests, which made it very difficult to get any rest. When I checked out early in the morning and mentioned this to the front desk, there wasn’t much of a response or acknowledgment, which was disappointing. It’s a decent place to stay, but I do think better noise management and guest support would really improve the experience.

  I normally stay at the Purdue Memorial Union for my annual football weekends, but the price has become ridiculously high. Checking around, I found the Hampton Inn & Suites that is a short (but slightly uphill) walk to campus. The hotel property is very well maintained and there is plenty of free parking. We were met at the front desk by a lady, who I am guessing is the manager, and two other staff members who could not have been more welcoming and helpful. We were pointed towards a welcome table of complimentary snacks, candies, and bottled water. (We were told that this was a football weekend feature.). We picked up a couple of snacks and as we went for a bottle of water, we were asked if we wanted “cold” water from their refrigerator. What hospitality! The rooms are spacious, clean, and very well appointed. The furniture is comfortable, and you can actually enjoy sitting on their chairs and sofa for prolonged periods of time. The bed was very comfortable and the walk-in shower was great. Breakfast was good and convenient, and we enjoyed a nice conversation with one of their newer employees, Conner. We will be going to the football game shortly, but are looking forward to another comfortable evening at the hotel.

  Front desk lady is super nice and helpful. We asked if there was an EV charger on site and she informed us about their future plans for one. My husband noticed a couple of well placed outlets by the entrance and asked if we could trickle charge off them during our stay. She said yes!
