  Valparaiso sucks. But that's not the hotel's fault. My biggest gripe with this facility is the TV. I bring my own things to entertain myself. You can't just use the TV, the volume automatically goes to 100 and you can't change the input or turn the volume down unless you plug your HDMI into their crap dvr system. Even then the system reboots every 45 minutes, no matter what, being active on the TV doesn't matter, changing volume doesn't .matter, it's going to kick you off and you'll have to restart, the volume goes back to 100. It's terrible. Why is this company making it so difficult to bring your own entertainment? Bed was fine. Cleanliness was fine. But provided "amenities" feel like a punishment. Considering it's already a punishment to have to be in Valparaiso for work, it would be so much better if I could at least watch a whole movie without the TV randomly shutting off and having to do a whole restart plus input changes plus volume changes. Just give us a regular remote and remove this additional bull crap.

  Says on the website pets aloud cats and dogs. Just called front desk and the lady informed me they only aloud service dogs and most have papers to prove it. Cannot be emotional support service neither.

  I do not recommend staying here. I got in around midnight and their front doors were clearly malfunctioning. Check in went smooth. There was a bunch of construction stuff stacked in the hallways. I got to my room and it smelled of cigarettes and there was dirt and hair in the entryway on the tile and hair on the bed. Clearly not well cleaned. Because I was so tired from traveling, and frankly was in no mood for excuses, I made do… a mistake I wish I would not have made. Waking up that morning I was met with more gross reality. The bathroom was not clean with hair and gunk in the shower and sink and on the tile floor. On top of all this I waited a solid 35 minutes to see if the shower would heat up but it never did. I resorted to a cold shower. I think the only clean thing was the towels. After my cold shower, I wanted to get out of this mess of a hotel as quickly as I could.

  The hotel is doing some remodeling. There isn't a wheelchair accesable ramp to the front door. The water took forever to heat up in the shower. Could hear what show the people next to us was watching through the wall. The bed was very comfortable but needs more or bigger pillows to fit the bed. There is an Applebee's right next door so you can have a nice little walk back to your room. Its right off the highway, across the road is a miniature golf course that says open year round with a neat looking dragon standing beside a mountain or volcano for moral support. It was a nice stay all in all, I'd go back.
