While the room was nice and clean, the one lady from the cleaning staff I encountered was amazing, nothing else about this stay is worth anything above a 1 star review.
Besides that their towels wreak of burnt hair, the customer service was unlike any I've ever received, not in a good way
We were travelling with a travel hockey team and one of the front desk team members found it appropriate to record them with her personal phone while they were running in the hall, instead of coming to the parents. (We were all right in the lobby together)
She also found it appropriate to talk about us to a co-worker while other guests were around, calling us drunks.
She also found it appropriate to argue with one of our parents when confronted about her actions. No apologies, just constant argument and neglect for any responsibility for her actions.
Lastly, we have reached out to the hotel manager about these incidences and are being completely brushed off. She copy/pasted a response to any parent that decided to reach out to her about her concerns. The email had no apology for the front desks actions or words towards us, simply that she was 'sorry it happened'.
We are planning on taking further action so that no one else needs to feel concern for their child being recorded or scolded by a front desk team member at the Tru by Hilton in Elkhart, IN.
It bothers me to have to share this with everyone like this, but the complete dismissal and lack of responsibility taken by the management in this situation is unacceptable.
I strongly recommend you take your business elsewhere when planning your travels for any event in this area.

I stayed at Tru by Hilton and it was… fine.
The air unit squeaked all night like it was trying to communicate in Morse code. I didn’t sleep. I just listened.
My “clean” towels smelled like Long John Silver’s, so that was a fun surprise. Nothing says relaxation like drying off and craving hush puppies.
And the breakfast? The eggs had the texture of cottage cheese with commitment issues. If that’s your thing, congrats. If not… maybe grab a granola bar on the way out.
On the bright side, I didn’t need a wake-up call. The air conditioner handled that. 🫠

We stayed at this hotel with our hockey team while playing in a tournament in South Bend. Rooms are minimalistic but very clean. There was daily housekeeping, and the housekeeping team did a great job.
The game room was a great amenity that our parents and kids enjoyed (while supervised). The lobby had tons of seating options and work stations. It was a great place to hang out while the kids were playing pool and board games.
The woman on front desk duty Thursday evening was not friendly or welcoming. However, the women on duty Friday and Saturday evenings were great! Very welcoming and friendly to adults and kids alike. We very much appreciated the women on front desk duty on Friday and Saturday evenings.
I didn’t have breakfast, but my kids liked the pancake machine!

While this is a more budget brand for Hilton, we had a nice stay. Rooms are a bit utilitarian but comes with everything you need for a nice stay. Strangely, the thermostat was set in Celsius which was odd but we figured out the temp we needed.
