While this is a more budget brand for Hilton, we had a nice stay. Rooms are a bit utilitarian but comes with everything you need for a nice stay. Strangely, the thermostat was set in Celsius which was odd but we figured out the temp we needed.

We've always had a good experience here. We like to stop by as a halfway point on our drive to Ohio. Breakfast is good, always love the pancakes! Beds and pillows are comfy. I like the modern feel, a lot less places to lose or leave things behind after coming in exhausted from a long drive and dropping everything.

Not impressed and you should stay elsewhere. Management here runs the hotel at the absolute bare minimum standards possible. The hallways are freezing because they don't have the heat on. The breakfast is pathetic and closes by 9am. The sodas they sell are not only excessively expensive but also beyond their "best-by" date. Simply bringing this to their attention and I am met with "health department says it is ok." No thank you.

I have been a Hilton Honors member for approximately eight years, and during that time I have never experienced an issue comparable to what occurred during my recent stay at the Tru property. The customer service representative, Devon, displayed an unprofessional attitude, and the manager, Heather, was equally dismissive. There was no hot water available, and although I was offered a different room, I was informed that the hot-water problem affected the entire hotel—making the offer ineffective. I was then asked to leave the premises at 5:00 AM, in the middle of winter, in Indiana. This was unacceptable. I do not recommend staying at the Tru in Elkhart, or at any Tru location based on this experience. I do appreciate the initial refund that was issued. However, I believed the matter had been resolved, only to wake up at 2:00 AM to find that my debit card was being charged twice for the very room I was refunded for the day before. I have never had such an experience at any Hilton property, and I would sincerely like to put this situation behind me. Please stop attempting to charge my card, and ensure that this issue is fully resolved. Thank you.

Upon arrival, the first impression of the property was disappointing. The lobby appeared worn and dated, which immediately set a negative tone. Unfortunately, the experience at the reception desk did not improve matters. The staff member assisting us seemed frustrated by our request to check in and did not demonstrate the professionalism or hospitality one would expect in this industry. On a positive note, the guest rooms were clean and well-maintained, though somewhat smaller than anticipated. However, the lack of timely housekeeping service was a major issue. Room service was not provided until the fourth day of our stay, which is unacceptable, particularly during a busy holiday period. When service was eventually delivered, the same staff member displayed reluctance and an unwelcoming attitude toward guest requests. This level of service significantly impacted our experience, especially for my wife, who values courtesy and professionalism. Having only one housekeeper available to maintain the entire property during Thanksgiving was inadequate and reflected poor management planning. Overall, while the rooms themselves were satisfactory, the service and hospitality fell far short of expectations, ultimately diminishing the quality of our stay.
