Hotel is extremely outdated. Booked room off Priceline that "claims" this is a 4 star hotel. That may have been true 20 years ago but now it's more like a 2 star MOTEL. No nice amenities in the room. Shower pressure and temperature were weird. Room wasn't very clean. Bathroom was kind of gross. Floor was not clean. Water stains and other weird dark marks present on the ceiling. There was glitter freaking everywhere on the floor and it was not from us. The comforter was old and worn out, absolutely needs to be replaced. TV shut off on us at one point and would not turn back on. Several channels don't come in due to poor internet service. Down button at elevator on 4th floor doesn't work, yet there is no sign and no one told us this when we checked in. Stood there for 5 minutes waiting for an elevator that was NOT coming. At check in, was told breakfast was between 7 and 10. I explained I didnt know there was breakfast, thats nice. Then was told it's $16. Workers should check what the reservation says before you offer breakfast only to explain its extra. I made the mistake of assuming a Double Tree Hilton in Schaumburg would be a nicer hotel. Very dissapointed and will not come back or recommend.

The room was clean, quiet, and safe the night I stayed. Maintenance is clearly an issue at this hotel. The elevator would get you to the 3rd floor, but the down call button did not operate (no light and no elevator). Using the stairs was the only option to get back down. The breakfast was reasonably priced and utilitarian. While this hotel managed to meet expectations for the price, it definitely is not a 4 star.

I can't really speak to the quality of the hotel itself as I wasn't able to get there: No one at this property bothers to answer the phone, and thus I wasn't able to get info on how to reach the hotel via shuttle or taxi. This hotel really needs to up the professionalism of their staff and teach them to actually answer the phone!

The location is the best thing going for this hotel. I typically have no complaints for DoubleTree. It's a Hilton Brand hotel and the service and quality are typically on point. However; this one feels like the hotel is placed in America while everything else has been shipped off shore. I booked this Priceline who advertised this as a 4 star hotel. Definitely not. More like 2 star hotel. I checked in Saturday, January 24th, 2026 at approximately 4pm. The staff was pleasant during this time and was relatively quick. I went and dropped off bags in my room and immediately headed out. I'd say it was about 4:30/5:00pm. I was out all day returning to my room about 11:00pm and that's when the truth started to reveal itself. Immediately the tv didn't work. I went back downstairs to the front desk attendant who I made aware the tv wasn't working. That I'd turn it on and immediately it'd go out. He advised me that I needed to hit channel up on the remote immediately 4 or 5 times because the first channels had weak signals. But he'd be up in a few to check on it. When I went back to my room and attempted the suggested solution it didn't work for me. Luckily; the attendant wasn't too far behind and came up as promised. He took the remote, and almost like he knew the secret Mortal Kombat cheat codes; he was able to get it work... over the course of my two night stay; I never turned the tv off out of fear I wouldn't be able to get back working. Next; I went to take a shower and the water wasn't cold but it wouldn't get warm or hot either. It felt like everyone in the hotel had ran out the hot water and I was showing on the last 5-10 minutes of whatever we're going to call the water temperature. Which was ironic because the water in sink got scolding hot. If I had been thinking in real-time; I would have rather just freshened up in the sink. Then there were the pillows. These were most flimsy, worn out pillows that I've ever experienced. The only positive is that they did give so many pillows to compensate for the non-luxurious pillow experience (remember; this is a "4 star" rated hotel". Throughout the night the next issue became the heat and overall comfortability of the room. The heat had to be set at 74° to get the room just to a comfortable state; which initially I gave a pass to because the Chicagoland area was experiencing a winter storm. However, throughout the night when the thermostat turned off, you could feel the drafts coming in the room from somewhere. In my opinion; i found this to be compounded by the fact that in the morning i realized that the hotel kept all the common area (except in the lobby) freezing. They don't do room service unless requested. Which is fine; it's one of the things that has remained post covid. I found there to be stains in the wallpaper in my room along with some of it curling/peeling. When i went to make my complaints known to the staff; I was tolf it was nothing they could do; primarily since i had booked through Priceline.
