I noticed the staff regularly monitoring the lobby and guest areas, which gave a sense of order. The check-in process included a brief explanation of amenities and policies. My stay was comfortable and well managed.

My husband and I were in town for an RV show at the convention center and, believe it or not, we hadn’t planned our overnight stay very well. We happened to park near the Crowne Plaza and walked through it to get to the convention center. At the end of the day, since we were already there, we stopped at the front desk to check availability. They had rooms open, which we were thankful for, but I was honestly surprised when we were quoted $250 for the night, especially since breakfast wasn’t included. Not even something small. The next morning we learned it would have been $17 per person for the buffet, and we ended up paying $11 just for a muffin instead. I do wish the attendant had mentioned breakfast options when we booked so we could have decided ahead of time. The hotel itself was nice enough. The bed was comfortable, although it was quite cold in the room we had to turn it up to 76° and it was still cold and had to call down to the front desk to ask for an additional blanket since there was basically just thin sheets on the bed. The bathroom was spacious with a modern bowl-style sink and plenty of warm water. Nothing particularly over-the-top, but clean and comfortable. The highlight of our stay was definitely the view. We were on the 13th floor and could see across the city, plus we were close enough to the airport to watch planes take off and land. That was honestly the coolest part of the whole experience. We also had dinner at the on-site restaurant, Chicago Fire Oven, and unfortunately that experience was disappointing. We waited quite a while to be seated, and once we were at our table, it felt like we did a lot more waiting than anything else. We both ordered the burgers, which were $19 each, and while we were there on Valentine’s Day and enjoyed sharing dessert first, the overall service missed the mark. Other tables seated after us were attended to before we were, no one checked back on us, and we ultimately had to ask for our check. We also had to request that the bill be corrected because a drink we ordered was never brought out. It was not the best dining experience, especially considering the price point. Overall, I’m glad they had availability when we needed it, but spending close to $300 for less than 16 hours makes it hard to say I’d choose this hotel again. Still, it worked for what we needed in the moment.

Horribly cold room, and this hotel provides you only one thin blanket that is as thin as the bedsheet. It was below 30 degrees outside and the heater didn't work well enough to keep the room at a warm stable temperature. The heater wouldn't kick back on until the room started getting really cold despite cranking up the thermostat. I shivered every night I stayed here, and got horrible sleep. This hotel fails at providing the most basic amenity in winter, heat. I never want to stay here again.

You can see where this Hotel was once fairly nice. Now outlets are falling out of the walls. The elevator call button is literally falling from the wall. Shower heads are disgusting/non operational. Secured doors just open without scanning cards. Zero security on the parking area(take all things in no matter what). Lightning fixtures are shorting out or falling off the wall. This place feels like the hotel from "The Ghostbusters" which is funny as there was once a restaurant called the caddyshack. Amenities are par at best. The room TV is a 24" at best. The restaurant smells good but $$$😬. We had to stay here for a tournament but if you can pick somewhere else....do it. They really need to take the Crowne out of the name.

On the evening of Saturday 7th Feb into Sunday morning around 1a I had to get a new room key. The male staff member (dark skinned, bald, in his 30s and spoke with an accent) at the desk asked for my ID and started asking about my ethnicity and the origin of my surname, before I could respond he said “I presume you’re Mexican” and when I asked why he would presume anything he explained that my surname is of Spanish origin and started explaining his thoughts. When he gave me my ID back, I quietly said my name is Portuguese and began walking to the elevator. The man screamed loudly that Portuguese and Spanish are the same thing and there is no difference. I felt very uncomfortable and quickly made my way to my room. He acted very aggressively and I think the line of questioning was inappropriate and escalated to him screaming unnecessarily. As it was very late and we were alone in the lobby, you can imagine why I was not feeling safe.
