We stayed at this hotel over Thanksgiving 2025 for 2 nights. Overall opinion is that too many things didn't work and if you have any issues customer service is useless. Details below:
Pros:
- Room was clean and as advertised
- Staff were friendly and accommodating
- Lobby and public areas were clean
Cons:
- Smart TV systems didn't work - This wasn't a huge problem, we were unaware about them anyway and had brought our own Roku device, but it was just one more thing that didn't work
- Elevator wasn't working - A little frustrating, we were traveling with 3 younger kids, bags for everyone, snacks for the room, etc. and had to go up and down the stairs several times. We at least were called and warned about this prior to arrival and were given rooms on the 2nd floor
- Pool was closed for maintenance - This was our biggest complaint. Our kids were not excited to travel for several hours and visit grandparents they barely know, but they were excited to swim. We specifically booked this hotel over a cheaper one because of the pool. We were not told about the pool being closed, we only found out when I went looking around and saw the sign on the pool doors. Thankfully we didn't get everyone dressed and walk down to the pool, that would have been even worse.
- Ice machine didn't work - This was extra frustrating because apparently the one on the 4th floor worked (but remember, no elevator) but there were no signs at all telling us that. I tried the ice machine twice before accepting it didn't work (it was plugged in and making noise, so I thought it was empty) and never knew there was a 4th floor machine.
- Customer Service is non existent - Before we left, I brought up the pool issue to the hotel manager. She offered us points as a resolution, which didn't work for us because we don't travel (this was a one time trip for an ailing grandparent) and would never use them. She explained we had booked 3rd party, which I still don't understand because I booked on the IHG website, and that would make a refund difficult. Our biggest complaint was not getting to swim, so I thought an easy solution would be to work out an arrangement with the IHG hotel near where we live so we can just swim when we get home. She seemed interested in making that work for us, said she'd give that location a call and see if it was possible. Didn't hear from her for a bit, called and left a message at the desk, never received a call back.
About a month after our stay, still haven't heard from the manager, I decided to go through the websites support/chat feature to find a resolution. The agent (unsure if real person or AI) had me list the details, pulled up my account, took note of the complaints, and opened a case. I was informed I would receive a call once my case was reviewed. That was a month ago, never received a call.
Today, approximately 2 months after our stay, I called customer support and spoke with an actual person. Imagine my surprise when I'm told my case was closed and 6000 points were added to my account. I was never told my case was closed. I was never consulted about if that resolution was acceptable. I explained to the agent that this was not acceptable because as I told the hotel manager I would never use the points. I explained the alternative solution the manager was supposed to inquire about and that at this point I was no longer willing to discuss solutions and just wanted the refund. She put me on hold, saying she would look into what she can do, and then just as it sounded like she came back, I was disconnected. The agent never tried to call me back or otherwise communicate with me.
I will continue to update this review if anything else happens, but I am not optimistic.

The Rantoul, IL holiday I express was a huge disappointment this weekend. The pool was closed, no one notified us of this. The key cards weren't working so the front desk attendant had to let us in and out of our room when we needed in. She was too interested in her phone to actually press the elevator button to go up, until I leaned in to press it. The ice machines on every floor were not working, we tried and called. The night front desk person was no help. The cable kept going in and out, when I called she said "oh yea, we must be having a problem, you are not the only person that has called." When my Mom when to check out, they only took 30 dollars off the bill, for a room that was pointless. We have family in rantoul but will not be wasting our money again here.
