  The location was amazing. There were great restaurants nearby, and the parking garage behind the hotel was super convenient. They also validated the parking, which was a big plus. That said, there were a few things that took away from the experience. There was a foul smell in the lobby both days we stayed. They also had bags of trash piled up in the lobby for several hours. When we checked in, the front desk employee was on FaceTime with a man, which felt unprofessional and made the check-in experience less welcoming. Overall, it was a good experience, but there are a few areas that could use improvement.

  I stayed here for two nights on a work trip and unfortunately had a pretty disappointing experience. After my first night, I found a pair of used men’s boxers in my room, along with loose candy gummies under the lounge chair. The room otherwise appeared clean, which honestly made it worse as it clearly wasn’t thoroughly checked. I brought this to the front desk’s attention calmly and politely. I even said I didn’t need to switch rooms since I was only there one more night, I just asked for housekeeping to come immediately and properly clean the space. The staff apologized and offered to comp part of my second night (around $50), noting that it had been added to my account. At checkout, however, there was no record of this. The manager who originally handled the situation wasn’t available, and I was told they would follow up. I had to leave for the airport, but the final bill came through with no adjustment. I reached out afterward and have received no response. At the end of the day, this is less about the money and more about the principle. Finding someone else’s (dirty) clothing in your room is unacceptable, and failing to follow through on a promised resolution is even more frustrating. Based on both the cleanliness issue and the lack of accountability, I would not stay here again.

  The hotel is located in a walkable area with lots of shops and restaurants. The staff, especially Roberto, were friendly and helpful. The breakfast time is longer than usual, which is appreciated if you're not on an early schedule; there's comfortable seating if you like to linger over coffee. The room was well-appointed and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

  Drove up to Chicago and enjoyed our stay at this Holiday Inn. Parking was a bit of a challenge for a tall vehicle but Azim was super helpful. Walked with me to get safely into a parking spot. The 6' 8" height is a true but the hanging height limit sign is a bit too low. Nonetheless, he went out of his way to solve a problem that is not a hotel issue and it's hard to find that kind of help nowadays. Restaurants, shops and a park are just around the corner. Our son and fiance just moved there so we will be visiting them often. Now we have a hotel to stop in when we do.

  Pleasant, comfortable hotel with no excess fuss or presumption near the Metra station. We were upgraded to a king suite with no charge ( thank you Roberto!) The staff were super kind without being obsequious, the beds were comfy, the rooms very roomy and clean, and the coffee in the lobby was surprisingly good. Very close to a Target *if you forget anything*, and the area is extremely walkable(( Parks, dining options (Mediterranean food, an Indian spot, upscale and late night eats at Mexican restaurants, multiple Italian restaurants, a dedicated vegan restaurant, AYCE Japanese bbq, southern BBQ, a minimum of 3 breakfast or bunch restaurants with crepes, donuts, full breakfast plates.) There is also a comedy club and movie theater nearby. We loved the options on the shower head, but I must deduct 1 star for the hot water not getting very hot, and lack of ventilation in the room making the room not ideal for sleeping. My spouse and I both woke up multiple times sweating in a cool room. The room temperature is adjustable, the pillows and bed are comfy, but I would bring a USB fan for comfort if you need addional airflow.
