Historical LandmarkThe Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
The Red Brick Store was a site of revelation, community gathering, and organizational instruction. On the second floor, the Prophet Joseph Smith followed divine instruction to organize the Female Relief Society of Nauvoo and presented the first endowment ceremony in preparation for the Nauvoo Temple.
A great place to stop and learn the history of Nauvoo and this little shop where Joseph Smith spent part of his time. There's recreations of the first printed Book of Mormons (no verses, it reads just in chapters like a normal book), toys you can buy that are similar to the ones children played with in the 1840's, and ice cold root beer behind the counter. Make sure you chat with the shopkeeper who has so much to tell, and go upstairs to see the office where Joseph Smith worked.

Great place to buy souvenirs from Historic Nauvoo. The tour of the upstairs was fascinating.

Went here with my family this summer. Very happy with the selection of products sold here. They offer a variety of products not offered in other shops around Nauvoo. Personally, I thought their selection of ink and quill style calligraphy pens was exceptional! Also, they let you see the upstairs of the store where the Relief Society was founded and Joseph Smith had an office.
