- KBKaley ButtarsMay 30, 20195.0A great place to stop and learn the history of Nauvoo and this little shop where Joseph Smith spent part of his time. There's recreations of the first printed Book of Mormons (no verses, it reads just in chapters like a normal book), toys you can buy that are similar to the ones children played with in the 1840's, and ice cold root beer behind the counter. Make sure you chat with the shopkeeper who has so much to tell, and go upstairs to see the office where Joseph Smith worked.

Personally, I thought their selection of ink and quill style calligraphy pens was exceptional! Also, they let you see the upstairs of the store where the Relief Society was founded and Joseph Smith had an office.
