- SSskeesmillerDec 6, 20255.0Basic, but clean, affordable, beautifully decorated for Christmas with a large pool, breakfast, quiet, dog friendly, laundry, mini fridge, mw and small gym. We're visiting friends in Monticello and wanted to bring our dog. Best western gateway in Monticello checked all the boxes. Our beds were comfortable, the shower was strong, had a hairdryer and lotion, shampoo, conditioner. Big tv in rooms, Ike 200 channels on tv and breakfast had hard boiled eggs, Activia yogurts, basic pastries, waffles, biscuits & gravy. I only had coffee. They let us use AARP discount for 4 rooms eventhough only 1 room had over 65 ppl. I'm guessing it's because all the rooms were on our card. We didn't use pool but it looked cleaned and was much bigger than normal hotel pools. The a gas station next door and restaurant. Would definitely recommend. There was a little rust on the bathroom light but everything else in good shape!

- RFRichard FaulkenberryNov 9, 20255.0Recently (11/06/25), My wife and I had a breakdown on our 5th Wheel Trailer that forced us to stop over in Monticello, Illinois for the night! We had to call out a mobile RV service company to fix our trailer. The Best Western in Monticello had no issues with us just popping in without a reservation! In fact they were extremely accommodating and just about the most gracious hosts that we have ever encountered at any hotel that we have stayed at! The rooms were clean as was the rest of the facility. In fact, it looked like they had recently updated or remodeled ( or was possibly a new hotel altogether)! All of the employees were cordial and sincere, especially since we weren’t sure if we would be able to leave the next day! Fortunately, our trailer was repaired the next day, and we were able to continue our journey. We were not charged another nights lodging even though we didn’t check out of the hotel until almost 4pm! Thank You for your courtesy and compassion Best Western Monticello!!!
