Thank you team at Spark Moline. Clean room. The team there contracted me quickly after I checked, as I left a work item in my room. We quickly and efficiently coordinated to get my item back to me.
Thanks!

Rooms are good. Common areas are very, very heavily perfumed. If you live in a cloud of air fresheners, laundry scents, and perfumes, you should be fine. I have never been very sensitive to perfumes before, but I had to hold my breathe through the lobby to avoid the insta-headache it gave me. The room had no scents added, though, so once we made it there, we were fine. Location is not very convenient, but I appreciated the lower price.

It's definitely a budget hotel. Booked this for a work trip thinking I'd get a Hilton quality building and bed, but the basic, no frills, version. Instead it's a motel 6 with a paint job. Floors and walls are super thin. The hallway and entrance smell like someone applied perfume with a pump sprayer to cover up the musty mildew smell. Reviews from months ago mentioned the smell. Replies from management saying they were addressing it convinced me it was probably fixed by now, but that's not the case. Something is wrong, water damage or an HVAC problem is creating a smell that seems unhealthy, covering it with air freshener so thick its cloying isn't "addressing the issue" it's just hiding it poorly. It's hard to smell the mold or whatever when you can't take a deep breath. Thankfully my room didn't have the same treatment. I was seriously considering moving hotels until i got in the room. The rooms are okay, not amazing. The area isn't great, but the whole quad cities area seems to be not great. The staff are professional and accommodating. If you're staying 1 or 2 nights, this place is fine. If you're here for a week there are better options within 15 minutes offered by Hilton like the Doubletree. Which was only 10 bucks a night more than this place and much nicer. I probably won't stay here again.

Dog friendly ($75 extra), which was the most important for us this trip. Even with the dog fee, the deposit was cheaper than other places we've stayed without a pet fee. Rooms were still quality (we were concerned because we know not all dog owners are responsible so the rooms could reflect that but luckily they were well maintained).
My only reason for taking a star off is that the key cards stop working to let you into the building after 2am and you have to get let in by staff (though that is good for safety so that might actually be a plus for some people). Staff letting us in at nearly 4am was very accommodating with a late check out (latest we've ever veen given, actually) so we could get a good night's rest still.
Breakfast included but there's nothing hot besides bagels, instant oatmeal, and coffee/tea. Also had fruit, cereal, yogurt, packaged muffins, juice, and hard boiled eggs. Located right behind a gas station/7-11 so there's plenty more cheap food if this breakfast won't cut it for you.
