The room was clean, and the location is near pretty much everything, the staff were nice. However, the bed is not comfortable for a king room. Very sunken in. There are hidden fees like parking was $75 for staying ONE NIGHT?? We paid over $100 for the room and then had to pay another $75 and a second night would be another $250 with fees and taxes included.
The bathroom looked clean but you could smell that it was not cleaned well at all. Another thing, there were only two working elevators. One was being repaired and you had to walk from one side of the hotel to the other. Luckily our room was on the 7th floor, which wasn’t that bad. It just was not good for a 4/5 star hotel, there are much better. Just very overpriced for what you get.

This hotel was amazing. They treated us extremely well. right when I checked in, they tried to find me a room with the city view since it was my first time in Chicago on top of that handed out numerous bottles of Fiji water brought us extra slippers and robes. They were extremely courteous and helpful. I can’t say anything bad about this place. The bar on top of the roof was fun and definitely something you gotta go to if you go here. they made my stay extremely fun and relaxing. I’ll definitely be coming back.
I stayed here 44 nights.Checked in on a saturday, and the room has a lot of wear and tear.I'll pose pictures, but it's just a lot of wear and tear, but ultimately, I set up for just okay because of the view. And housekeeping was good. But the ac we sweat at most of the nights throughout the night, even with it being forty thirty degrees outside inside the room, it was hot.No matter how many times we changed the temperature? Two is the beds sinks? That mattress need to be changed out for 2 people to be sinking in the middle of the bed is crazy. And of course, a lot of the wear and tear for me personally, I would come back 15th floor
Also, that rooftop manager very rude very, very rude

Stayed at The Godfrey Hotel Chicago and had a really great experience overall. The rooms were modern, clean, and well-designed—everything felt upscale without being over the top. The bed was super comfortable, and the location is perfect for exploring downtown Chicago.
The standout, though, is definitely the rooftop bar on the 4th floor. It’s an awesome space with a great vibe—stylish, lively, and perfect for both daytime drinks and a night out. The atmosphere really elevates the whole stay, and it’s easily one of the best hotel rooftop setups in the city.
Service was friendly and efficient throughout. Only reason it’s not a full 5 stars is a few small details here and there (nothing major), but overall it’s a fantastic place to stay and I’d definitely come back—especially for that rooftop.

I’m currently staying at The Godfrey Hotel Chicago and unfortunately this has been one of the most disappointing hotel experiences I’ve had — especially for a property that markets itself as a four-star hotel.
From the moment I arrived, the experience felt chaotic. There were two guests arguing loudly in the lobby during check-in, which set the tone for what has been a very uncomfortable stay. One of the elevators has been out of service, creating delays and congestion.
The noise levels are extremely high — hallway conversations and sounds from neighboring rooms carry clearly into the room, making it difficult to rest or work. Soundproofing appears to be minimal at best.
The most frustrating issue, however, is the lack of climate control. The hotel has apparently turned off the air conditioning system, and guests are unable to control the temperature in their rooms. It is currently 75° inside my room, while it’s cooler outside. Even with the windows open, and the heat off, the room will not cool down. When I contacted the front desk, I was told there was nothing they could do to help.
For a hotel positioned at this price point and rating level, basic expectations such as working elevators, reasonable noise control, and the ability to adjust room temperature should be standard.
Unfortunately, had I known about these conditions in advance, I would have chosen to stay elsewhere.
