My stay at the Millennium Hotel Chicago from April 2–5 was extremely disappointing. At check-in, I was told there would be a $100 per night deposit ($300 total), which is standard. However, the hotel double charged the deposit and held $600 on my account without explanation.
This error directly affected my ability to enjoy my trip with my children—plans had to be scaled back due to funds being tied up unnecessarily. What made things worse was the response: guest services only offered to waive the destination fee, which does not come close to addressing the inconvenience or disruption caused. A mistake like this is unacceptable, and the lack of meaningful resolution reflects poorly on the hotel’s professionalism. I would not recommend staying here.

Honestly, this place is not worth it at all. For the price they’re charging, you would expect at least decent quality and basic functionality, but that’s not what you get. They add an extra $24 per day fee for no clear reason even if you’re only staying one night and not using any of the services they claim to provide. It just feels like a pointless charge to squeeze more money out of guests.
The room itself is very outdated and doesn’t match what you’d expect for the price. On top of that, basic things didn’t even work. The fridge was broken, the TV didn’t turn on, and overall the room just felt poorly maintained. When you’re paying this much, the least you should get is a clean, fully functioning space, and that wasn’t the case here.
Customer experience also wasn’t great. There was no real effort to make up for the issues or even acknowledge them properly. It honestly felt like once they had your money, they didn’t really care about your stay or whether anything was working.
At the end of the day, you’re paying premium prices for below-average quality and service. There are way better options out there for the same price or even cheaper that actually provide what they promise. Save your money, avoid the frustration, and book somewhere else.

This hotel has age on it and could use some remodeling. The room was small for 4 people, but it served its purpose! Staff were friendly. We received a discount on the destination fees due to our air vent making a horrible noise, so bad, we just shut it off and then we were hot.
Hotel room was not dirty, but I wouldn’t give it a 5/5 for cleanliness. Carpets could have been cleaner.
Best part about this hotel was the location. We were able to walk to almost everything we did including the Navy Pier , Starbucks Reservoir, shopping, and many food/restaurant choices.

Rooms are very dated. Our first room the carpet was buckling up, there was a plate screwed onto the door as if it had been kicked in, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, and bed sagged in the middle and you could feel the springs.
Our second room was not cleaned well, food left in the refrigerator from someone else, dirt on the floor, and the set up of the shower was horrible. You have to literally hold the nozzle in your hand to shower otherwise the shower head will stream down on the top of your head.
The room was hot because the air wouldn’t come on, when we called maintenance, they just opened the window.
There was no place at all in the entire building to warm up your food, so don’t even think about eating your leftovers from the restaurant. Just wasn’t a pleasant stay.
