We had a lovely stay here at the Holiday Inn Chicago Downtown. We originally booked a king room with a city view and were upgraded to a corner room free of charge. The views of the city from our room were breathtaking! The hotel main floor (15th) is stunning. The design, colors, and furnishings feel luxurious. The prices at the hotel market are not bad and it's nice to have so many options available 24hrs a day. The beds are very comfortable and the sheets are nice and soft. We requested an extra blanket and one was brought to us with no hassle. The shower is a good size walk it and we enjoyed that the TV had the built in cast feature so we could stream from our apps onto the TV when relaxing after a long day in the city. If you want filtered water to refill your water bottles the ice room on the 16th floor has a nice filtered system. The pool and sauna were both features we checked out but didn't have the chance to use, but they both look great! A huge standout for me was the buffet breakfast! We made sure to do the booking for our room that specifically mentioned that it included breakfast (they will give you vouchers when you arrive). The selection at breakfast was unmatched and everything we had was delicious! We would definitely stay here again.

We paid extra for a room with a city view. We got a view of the dirty roof of the hotel mainly. The air conditioner wasn't working, we noticed immediately. I told the front desk and suggested they just switch us rooms because we hadn't touched anything yet, but they refused. They sent a maintenance person who was nice. I mentioned to him that in reviews I noticed a lot of people have this problem. He laughed and said "yea, that sounds about right." He fixed it, but it went out again late at night, and my kids were already asleep, so we just slept in a hot room. I noticed before I went to sleep that there were a couple of ants crawling on the table below the TV. I used the flashlight of my phone to try to find more, just incase, but couldn't. In the morning I found the source - an infestation of ants in the bathroom. Also, the pool heater was broken apparently, and the water was ice cold - I asked about this, and apparently its been an ongoing problem.... my guess is they don't want to spend the money to fix it, they just don't care. They also know that the AC units are a problem, but won't take care of that either. Stay here or not, up to you, but this was just my experience. I can't say that I would ever stay here again.

I’ve stayed at Holiday Inn Express for years. I’ve been a rewards member for years and the Breakfast buffet has always been part of the package and a consideration at the time of booking. The listing for the Wolf Point, Chicago location also advised a free breakfast at the time of booking. I was deeply disappointed and upset to be charged over $30 for some eggs and bacon. I will definitely consider this when booking in the future. Staff and management were unwilling to be of any help with this matter. They got an extra $30, but lost a loyal customer.

I recently stayed at the Holiday Inn - The Mart and left feeling disappointed with my overall experience. I don’t leave negative reviews at all, but I believe it’s important to share honest feedback.
During my stay, I interacted with a night staff member named Maria. While I understand that working in customer service can be challenging my experienced fell below expectations. When I requested a late checkout, I was informed that I wasn't allowed. I showed her that I was a Platinum member so I had hoped this status would at least be acknowledged or considered. I also requested fresh towels but after waiting several hours, they were NEVER delivered.
I also encountered an issue with a food delivery. The doordasher sent a message to me regarding difficulty getting assistance at the front desk, which unfortunately aligned with my own experience. When I went down to get my order, it wasn't there. I asked Maria where my delivery was but the interaction felt dismissive and she had this snarky unbothered attitude.
Few things to note too! The hotel does not provide complimentary water or breakfast, and access to guest rooms requires transferring to elevators on the 15th floor. During my stay, only two elevators were working, which resulted in extended wait times. This hotel is advertised as 4-star on google but please stay somewhere else, there's a lot more great hotels in Chicago.
