I stayed here for 3 nights after staying at the Peninsula hotel for 4 nights. This is a very solid Four Seasons experience, with good service and no major issues encountered. It is not as large or as grand as the Peninsula in Chicago, and the food was not as good as Peninsula, but overall still very solid experience. It seems like these two hotels are in the top tier for Chicago (#1 and #2 perhaps), and I would likely go back to either of them, depending on price. The art work in the lobby and ballrooms was nice but not stunning, with some really large flower arrangements, but it was not quite the same wow factor as the Peninsula. I am glad that I tried both places.

Amazing visit with the family all around! The hospitality and service levels more than met expectations for a 5 star hotel. It was an unexpected but welcomed treat to get upgraded upon check-in! The hotel was beautiful, clean, and spotless. The indoor pool was recently remodeled and was a very nice area for the kids to swim. The location was great walking distance to many restaurants and boutique level shops away from the vacated Michigan Ave. Look forward to our next visit!

We haven’t even stepped foot in the hotel yet—and somehow, the Four Seasons Hotel Chicago has already delivered a five-star experience. Karen from the concierge team is absolutely dialed in. I gave her a vision for an early Mother’s Day surprise for my mom… and she turned it into something next level—shopping lined up, spa, incredible dinners—the whole thing, buttoned up and thoughtful down to the details. This is exactly why I’m loyal to Four Seasons. It’s not just luxury—it’s how they make things feel effortless, personal, and special every single time. If this is how it starts, I can’t wait to see how it goes when we actually arrive. My mom has no idea what’s coming—and that’s the best part. Karen, you’re setting the bar high. Let’s go!!!!

I don't review often, but I had to leave a review about this. This review is no reflection of the amenities, the staff, or the services. All of which were great! However, I must say... I spent over $400 to have a spa day there to kick off my birthday wknd and I was surprised by the amount of children within the spa area. I understand this is a family hotel. And I'm truly not trying to shame families for being there. However, their prices reflect luxury and I'm not sure how luxurious things can be when I can hear children yelling and running around during my mani/pedi. Even my nail tech noticed/mentioned something to me about the noise. I'm not sure my review will necessarily change anything, but I think others should be aware that their spa service may come with a side of interrupting young children.

Quick summary: staying here with two kids ages 5 and 9 in an executive king suite. We check out tomorrow morning and the kids are dreading it. Clean, superb views, very friendly non-judgmental service, luxurious and family friendly. The value of the brand is to treat others the way you want to be treated. We really feel and believe that through interactions with staff so far during our stay. I watched a few YouTube video reviews of the hotel to see how kid friendly it is. The videos all seemed to be heavily skewed with folks getting the very nice and fancier suites. The videos made the Four Seasons seem great superficially with things like stuffed animals and kid size robes. Our experience was pretty different and more down to earth. However the videos all failed to capture the soul of the hotel and its staff which is now why I am writing this essay from my sofa bed. Spring break this year was a cluster of flight cancellations and back breaking snow. We had to pivot from fun in the sun after our flights in Minneapolis were cancelled twice. We booked an impromptu road trip and booked the Four Seasons through AMEX Travel. I was the pessimistic one who didn’t think going from cold in MN to cold in Chicago equates to a relaxing spring break. I did not want to drive the 6.5 hours. I did not to risk the wrath of the kids during those 6.5 hours. Of course my wife is right again and now I’m glad we did all of that. Location: right in a busy area with tons of things in walkable range. Parking is $$ so check out Spot Hero. The views cannot be beat. There is no bad view. I walked into the room and immediately wanted to go find a book to sit in the window sill and read like a kid again. We did a lot of walking and exploring. In the end there was something exciting for everyone. Room: we got a step up from the standard room with a separate living space. It’s tight for four but not bad. Everything is clean and the housekeeping crew are commandos with a smile. They came twice a day at 8AM and 8PM on the dot. They are lovely people who talked to my kids like friends. They didn’t come in to simply do a job, it was more personal. Amenities: for our kids, the pool was the highlight. It’s attached to spa and fitness center. The entire layout was lovely. The locker rooms were clean and well stocked. The spa had a wonderful ambience. For us parents, the hotel scent really struck a chord with us. It was not overly floral or overpowering. It was calming, inviting and relaxing. Of course, the decor and cleanliness everywhere was five star. Again, every single staff member was so kind. They remembered us mere peons and made my kids feel special despite walking down the same lobby as pro athletes. Restaurant Adorn: great service. Excellent healthy menu. We ate breakfast there daily and left full without feeling heavy with regrets. It was about $130 per breakfast for two adults and two kids. Family friendliness: absolutely. A treasure chest of small toys were offered to the kids at check-in. A modest but clean kids suite on the 32nd floor provided some brief distractions. Pool/hot tub areas typically had a few kids who would become best friends quickly. There often is a movie night where the kids are pampered with cozy bean bags, fries, chicken tenders, Mac n cheese, cookies, juices, popcorn and candy for the brave parents who dared to sugar their kids up at 7pm. Consolation prize for the parents are the delicious margaritas. The person who organized our movie night, Kristen Klus, did it from a perspective of a parent and it showed. She was so kind and considerate. Overall, check out will suck tomorrow. I have ruined my kids. We have not known Four Seasons before this reclaimed spring break but I’m guessing they will insist on being experts at every Four Seasons when we travel henceforth.
