Rooms are very nice. The decor and finishes are nice and a bit higher quality comparable to budget hotels. Surprisingly, the walls between rooms were not very sound proof; could hear TV from the other room. The front drop off/ parking/ valet area is small and gets congested easily especially during peak times (check in check out). The Bellhops were very friendly, kind and helpful. The Christmas Decor was really nice in the entrance and lobby. The elevators can also be congested during peak times, otherwise they were OK. Location is wonderful as you are walking distance to everything. Walk to Chicago River, Millenium, Michigan Ave and more depending how much walking you are up for. No pool, wasn’t able to get spa services when I stopped by there. There is a fitness center but did not utilize it this time. Breakfast is offered at the restaurant on the 1st floor, but they were not able to accommodate dietary restrictions, so I would not recommend there if you do have dietary restrictions. Rooftop was nice for the views and Holiday decor.
Absolutely unacceptable and completely unprofessional.
After checking in at 7 PM, management claimed our checkout time was 4 PM the next day, which is not standard policy and was never clearly communicated. When questioned, staff threatened to call security to remove me and my family from the room.
No hotel — especially one that claims to be upscale — should ever intimidate guests like this. This is a management failure, plain and simple. Either staff are poorly trained or management endorses this behavior. Both are unacceptable.
Paying premium prices only to be treated with hostility and threats is outrageous. There are far better hotels in Chicago that actually understand hospitality. Avoid this place.

Coming here has been the worst experience. Me and my childrenhad a flight that got in around 1:30 am. I called ahead 2x and also checked in on the app letting the hotel know that we would be coming straight from the airport around 2 am. When I got on the flight our reservation for the hotel was checked in and good to go. Upon arriving to the hotel around 2 am our room had been cancelled and the front desk staff insisted that we never checked in so our reservation was cancelled. I had to argue and show proof that we were checked in. They said there was a problem and they would work on it but that we would get a room. Around 3:30 am I asked them if I needed to book another hotel as they still had not gotten our room. It wasn’t until almost 4:30 am that a room was given to us. When I called in the morning upset about what happened the first answer they gave me was that my card had declined for incidental fees which the girl told me she would shut down my card and not charge. He only said this to be rude to me and place blame. They offered to give us a 1 hr more in the room even though I spent hrs waiting on the room with my 2 children at 2 am. Also went to try to have coffees after the hostess told us there was open seating on the couches for people that didn’t reserve tea at the restaurant. After we sat and told them we were ordering coffees they never came back to our table and never served us.

From the moment we arrived, LondonHouse Chicago felt like the perfect landing place, a home away from home. Not just a hotel.
We walked in a little travel-weary and clearly confused (the lobby is on the second floor), and without hesitation Allen R. appeared with the warmest energy, a big genuine smile, and calmly guided us exactly where we needed to go. That first interaction set the tone for our entire stay.
We arrived early and somehow got lucky because our room was ready. What a gift. Every single front desk interaction was kind, patient, and thoughtful. We even received check-in text messages making sure we were comfortable. Those little touches matter... and they were felt.
One day we left our room quite late in the day, and still came back to a perfectly cleaned, refreshed room... without even asking. That alone deserves applause. Amazing service.
There was also a young gentleman working evenings on December 27th and 28th...shame on me for not getting his name... but we saw him mostly on the second floor and by the elevators. He always made sure we could get where we were going and did so with such kindness and attentiveness. Another bright light on the team.
And then… THE VIEW.
We reserved a king corner room and WOWZA. Truly spectacular. Four large wrap-around windows that felt like they hugged the room — giving us sweeping views of the river stretching out toward Lake Michigan, the Magnificent Mile, and the city beyond. Even the bathroom had a city view, which made getting ready feel a little extra special.
The rooftop bar? Incredible. Fully decked out for Christmas and absolutely enchanting.
The lobby level became one of our favorite spots... a grilled cheese and tomato soup moment for my daughter before heading out into the Chicago cold, live music floating through the space, and a delicious coffee in hand for me. It’s lively yet peaceful....also the perfect place for me to relax while she napped. Cozy, vibrant, and grounding all at once.
We spent our last two evenings down the road at another luxury hotel — and I’m just going to say it: LondonHouse is the way to go.
This hotel perfectly blends elevated luxury with down-to-earth comfort — and that balance is hard to find.
This was a mother-daughter trip, traveling just the two of us, and I felt incredibly safe here. The staff is outstanding, the beds are wonderfully comfortable, the bathrooms are beautiful, and the corner room gives you that dreamy city view you hope for when you come to Chicago.
Add in walkability to Millennium Park, the Art Institute, and the Magnificent Mile — plus a Starbucks practically across the street — and honestly… what more could you ask for?
I’m so glad I chose LondonHouse.
Five stars, without hesitation. With love so much gratitude.... we hope to be back soon!
Absolutely amazing!!! This hotel made our vacation so memorable! The view of the river and all of the city buildings was incredible, and the cleaning staff did an amazing job! I would absolutely stay here again. It is just a few blocks from the L-train which got us everywhere we needed to go. We came into Midway airport, took the Orange line to within 3 or 4 blocks or so of the hotel and used public transport to go to a musical, to go to the suburbs in the west and the north, to go to the Sear’s Tower (aka Willis),
The Bean is within an easy walk as is a Target where we got some food for breakfasts and some of our lunches. A short bus ride gets you to the Navy Pier, but even that was only a 20 minute walk. Literally the best decision about this trip was the hotel pick we made! Well done to the hotel staff — attentive and very friendly. Thank you so much for making a trip with me and my two daughters easy so we could connect and make memories!
