Beautiful hotel and location. But they have COCKROACHES!!!🪳🪳🪳🪳🪳We chose this hotel because of the location for the Festival of lights celebration yesterday. I came with my mom and 2 young sons. We only stayed one night and the service was good. As we were getting ready in the morning I heard my mom shrieking. There was a Humongous 2" COCKROACH 🪳 🪳 running across the table!! We trapped it. I called downstairs and they sent a runner up right away to collect the ROACH 🪳 They did comp one meal and our Starbucks order. But still ended up paying over $400 for a one night stay in a ROACH infested room with 2 small children, this is DISGUSTING!! Not to mention all the work cleaning/disinfecting our car, luggage, and clothes that needs to be done tonight to ensure we did't bring back any COCKROACHES 🪳🪳 or EGGS to our home!! I have the creepy-crawlies just typing this. ROOM# 1705

I will never support this place. My family and I were attending a parade that took place right in front of the hotel. We waited over two hours in the cold to get a good spot, and about halfway through the parade, my 5-year-old daughter desperately needed to use the restroom. I politely asked the staff member at the door if she could quickly use their washroom, explaining she’s just a little girl and it was an urgent situation. He showed zero compassion and refused to let her in. Because of that, my daughter ended up having an accident and was embarrassed and upset for the rest of the night. We left early and missed Santa and many of the highlights we came to see. I understand policies, but basic human decency should always come first — especially when a child is involved. This one staff member’s cold, uncaring attitude completely ruined what should have been a magical evening for my family. Absolutely unacceptable. We will not be returning or recommending this hotel to anyone.

I came in town to visit my son who attends college near by and was quickly welcomed to the property and Chicago by an employee at the front desk, Eva Shan. She was excellent in helping me with all my questions about restaurants in the area and everything I needed from the hotel. I had a a great stay with some of the best service I've had in years from the entire team after the warm welcome throughout my stay. Great time in town.

This was our first time staying at this hotel and we can't wait to go back for a longer visit. Upon arrival into a beautiful luxurious lobby, with the best dressed Front Desk Staff we have ever seen, we had the good fortune to be greeted and checked in by Malcolm Moore. Mr. Moore was friendly, helpful and everything about him radiated a genuine elegance and professionalism. I had occasion to need information and stopped by the front desk two days later and Mr Moore was there. He immediately greeted me by name without needing to ask my room number or look at his computer! Very impressive. Malcolm Moore is the epitome of whom hotel owners should have as their Ambassador. We were fortunate to stay here last week while the weather was sunny, beautiful and mild, and the location is the best: Near the River, shopping, restaurants and with a beautifully designed Starbucks off one side of the lobby and an entrance to Michael Jordan's Steakhouse on the other side. The accommodations did not disappoint: We had a one-bedroom suite which was light, bright and absolutely immaculate. We had areas to relax and watch TV, working space for computer, a bar niche with discreet refrigerator and granite counter space. We also had two lovely bathrooms, with large sumptuous towels and lighted mirrors which made getting ready a breeze. It also didn't hurt my enjoyment that my very favorite fragrance by Byredo for many years, "Bal D'Afrique" was the amenities fragrance provided in both bathrooms. So nice! The king bed was firm enough to be comfortable yet soft as a cloud. The bedding and linens were top quality and made it difficult to want to get up! Elevators are fast and wide hallways convey sophistication and convenience not often found in hotels. The quietness is also impressive as it's in the heart of the Magnificent Mile, but we never heard a sound, either from other rooms or the hallways. I know that a hotel this well run starts with having the very best people at the top and I want to give compliments for that to the General Manager, Mr. Nabil Moubayed, and Mr. Andrew Burgerhoff who leads the Rooms Team. They and Malcolm Moore are just the best and we thank them for an incredibly lovely stay.

I had a fantastic stay at the Intercontinental. I am actually a local who lives close by in the city, and just wanted a one night “staycation” with my partner. When we arrived, there was actually a delay with getting our room ready for our check in time. The first front desk member was apologetic and gave my partner and I free drink tickets while we waited. When we went back to check on our room, we were lucky to speak with the manager Angelica. She was so kind and accommodating. She ended up upgrading our room for the inconvenience (and since ours still wasn’t ready) and also offered to cover our breakfast in the morning. I want to give a huge shout out to Angelica who completely turned a disappointing situation into a very satisfactory experience. Her level of customer care is fantastic. We loved our stay and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone!
