SUCH a mixed bag here…
But… TLDR… I’ll probably/maybe stay here again in the future, just strictly bc the bed and ease of getting around from the location are so great.
There’s *definitely* room for improvement at this property tho.
Fave: the bed 😍. Suuuuperduper comfy mattress, *perfect* high-quality pillows, and really nice, not-scratchy linens. A perfect-firmness cloud of cozy.
The Heckin Worst:
It’s a tie…
1 Worst - corner room is SO. DANG. LOUD. Like, holy shit I can’t sleep LOUD. Mainly wild, wild traffic noise (is this what trying to sleep literally on the street corner sounds like?? Yikes.) but this hotel is so close to Midway airport it’s basically a terminal, so there’s THAT. Eww.
Also #1 Worst:
Parking.
There IS a huge huge lot, but like 88 (sarcasm font) hotels share it and it gets full SO quickly, AND the hotel actually charges (the heck?!) $30ish/night for this nonsense. Ridiculous. ☹️
At least one night we had to park in a spot the absolute furthest away from this HIE that parking could possibly be (we’d be Front Row A1 for one of the other 88 hotels in this complex) and I feel like the trek from the car to the closest hotel door literally had to be close to a half-mile. NONSENSE.
I absolutely can’t believe the hotel charges for this BS parking sitch.
Other:
Very clean & modern room.
Location makes it easy to get onto highways and into Chicago proper or burbs.
Friggin *amazing* for watching planes land.
Gorgeous view of Chicago skyline in the distance.
Suite setup we got was ginormous, with a set of French doors separating the living area from the bedroom - nice. And one smallish tv in each section.
Good temperature control.
Absolutely zero hot cocoa and ReddiWhip - either in the breakfast area, or for sale in the hotel’s little market - available for when there’s a massive ThunderSnow event, and it’s WAY to far to walk to get to the car and drive to go get some 😫🤭
Temperamental shower/water pressure in a really really small bathroom.

We stayed at this location on Nov. 7th. The room was $250/night. We were only there one night (a few hrs). They charged us $30 per car to park. My husband and I came in separately so that was $60. Upon booking, they did not tell us there would be an additional $60 in parking. This placed the room (for a few hrs) over $300. We stay at this hotel whenever we come to the city and have NEVER been charged for parking. When I called about this, Jill basically told me that they are not responsible for the information that 3rd party agents tell us. Yet, they gladly take the traffic and revenue that 3rd party agents provide them. Not disclosing this information takes away the ability for a consumer to make an informed decision. We will no longer frequent Hilton. This was a complete rip-off!!!

We were happy with our stay at the hotel. However, we were not prepared for the kick in the teeth upon checkout represented in the $30 charge for 1 night of parking. Apparently, this is common amongst hotels close to airports. Lesson learned!! We will stay a bit farther away from now on.

Planned a trip for a convention in Chicago.
Wasn't even able to stay. Said my room was sold upon arrival because I didn't answer an unknown number at 7:21 pm (I was driving to the hotel) and they didn't leave a message either, so when I arrived at the property around 8, my room was suddenly gone. They said many lies about not having a card on my account, no email associated, etc etc.
I pointed out their lies, and left to find a new hotel. As I booked a new hotel, they called me and said somehow the room is available?
An hour later, the room that was supposedly sold, (that I booked a month in advance) and "the hotel was completely booked that night" my room is suddenly available?
They don't say anywhere In their policy that you have to check in before 7:30 pm or the room is gone.
The worker claimed that because they were fully booked that night, they were calling to "authorize payments."
If a hotel calls the evening before someone checks in to make sure they have "sufficient funds/payment on file", it makes me wonder where else are they dropping the ball. No hotel checks to see if the person booking has a authorized payment method that day, ESPECIALLY after sending not one but TWO confirmation emails weeks before.
Ended up staying somewhere else, was able to get an ADA accessible room at the other hotel, and learned my lesson not to trust holiday inn.
UPDATE
*********
I called the hotel after getting back to town, and the hotel repeated the same corporate jargon. Very rudely commented about my Expedia review multiple times.
Front office manager Jill Ochoa was extremely rude and didn't even try to care. Unbelievable behavior from someone in the hospitality industry.
