Charlie from HGV was extremely helpful in providing us with the vacation trip packages. He was extremely informative and low pressured about the trips and we are definitely interested in the offer which sounded awesome. We greatly appreciated his service.
A missed flight connection left me stranded at ORD for an evening. I had stayed at the Hilton about a year prior and came away unimpressed, it was just okay. Jump forward to my recent visit and, well, wow! Not sure what happened here, but top-notch service from beginning to end. Front desk accommodated early arrival after seeing we were dead on our feet, facility was spotless, food and beverage service at on-site options was friendly, prompt, and fair value. Employees all displayed a "can do" attitude and were simply fantastic. Dragging in as a weary and stranded traveler, the Hilton Chicago O'Hare turned my day and my mood around, and gave me refuge when I needed it. To the employees: Thank you! To the management team: Whatever you've done or changed over the past year has worked, congratulations!

šØHilton Chicago OāHare Airport āļø | My Ultimate āFlight-Saverā Hotel
When flights get canceled, delayed, or require an early-morning departure, this is my go-to hotelāevery single time. Hilton Chicago OāHare Airport is unmatched in convenience: itās literally connected to the terminals. You can walk outside or use the underground tunnel, which is a lifesaver during Chicago winters or storms.
Iāve stayed here countless times over the past few decades, and what truly makes this hotel special is the people. One concierge who started working here in the early 1990s still remembers me to this day. That kind of long-standing, personal service is rareāand it turns a busy airport hotel into something memorable.
šPros:
⢠Direct terminal access (no shuttle needed)
⢠Reliable rooms for quick overnight stays
⢠Excellent gymāspacious and well-equipped
⢠On-site steak restaurant, bar & grill, and coffee shop
⢠Professional, experienced staff
šCons:
⢠Rooms are more functional than luxurious
⢠Dining options are convenient but not destination-worthy
⢠Can feel busy during peak travel disruptions
šš»āāļøHelpful Tips:
⢠Use the tunnel during bad weatherāitās clearly marked
⢠Hilton Honors/Diamond members: always ask for a complimentary upgrade
⢠Ideal for 1ā2 night stays, especially during irregular operations (I had to stay 2-nights due to weather and flights issues)
If you value convenience, consistency, and service that remembers youāthis hotel never fails when travel plans do. š«

I missed a flight at ohare so I decided to book a room here since it was attached to the airport and would be convenient. Initial appearance is nice when you walk in but the attitude at the front desk was not welcoming. The rooms are out dated and smell stagnant. 270 for the cheapest room and Iāve had better rooms for 100 a night. Tub would barely drain filled during shower. Window seemed drafty so it was cold. The place was dead not a customer in sight, I arrived 2 hrs before check in and they would allow me to check in early without paying a 80 dollar fee. I would advise to save your money and take a shuttle to another hotel nearby.

Ugh this is frustrating. So I had to dig around the internet to confirm what I already suspected - the Hilton Chicago O'Hare used to offer gym day passes for like $15-20, which was honestly *such* a good deal for travelers. Steam room, sauna, lap pool, solid equipment. But based on my notes and what I'm seeing, they've apparently changed this policy.
Not gonna lie, I'm HEATED about this one. And not the good kind of heated like the sauna I apparently can't use anymore without booking a room.
So here's the deal with the Hilton Chicago O'Hare - this used to be my secret weapon for long layovers. 4+ hour delay? Cool, I'll just walk through that underground tunnel, drop $15-20, and get access to a legit athletic club. We're talking full gym, lap pool, sauna, steam room... the works. It was like having an executive lounge but for your body instead of your Hilton Honors ego. I've told SO many people about this place (including my sister who stays here whenever she's in from New York for work).
And now? Now they've killed the day pass program apparently??? Look I don't know exactly when this happened but it feels like a personal betrayal. Like breaking up via text. Actually no, worse - breaking up via policy change with no announcement. The Athletic Club is still there, still operational, still gorgeous with those Pelotons and that 1/18th mile track... but if you're not a hotel guest, you're persona non grata now. Which completely defeats the purpose??? The whole POINT of this place was that stressed out travelers stuck at ORD could actually decompress instead of just... sitting at a United Club eating pretzels and slowly dying inside.
I hold Diamond status with Hilton. Have for years. And even I want to tell them this is a trash decision. The property itself is fine - location is unbeatable, that underground walkway to terminals 1-3 is chef's kiss, the runway views from upper floors are still plane-spotter paradise. But removing one of the only genuinely useful amenities for the traveling public? For what?? This was the thing that made ORD delays bearable, and now it's just another airport hotel gatekeeping its mediocre rooms at $200+ a night.
They should honestly be embarrassed. Give it back or give up the property.
