Our Hampton Inn and Suites Chicago-Downtown hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the City of Chicago, just blocks away from Michigan Ave. Were surrounded by popular restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. The hotel is easily accessible from I-94 and Lake Shore Drive and surrounded by public transportation. Our location is halfway between the business area (Loop) and entertainment area of the city. However, the property is showing its age, and the elevator situation is a major dealbreaker. I waited over 20 minutes for an elevator that never arrived, eventually forcing me to take the stairs from the 29th floor down to the 10th just to access a different elevator bank. I would have rated this a 4.5/5, but the logistical nightmare with the lifts makes it hard to recommend

Close to the red line Grand station. Didn’t catch her name but the front desk staff on Wednesday Feb 19 was amazing. She offered me an upgrade to a suite while facing the inside of the building so less traffic and noise. She also wished “happy Chinese new year” to me. Very friendly and nice of her. Room was very clean, bed was comfortable. As others mentioned, there is a fire station right across from the hotel, but it didn’t bother me at all. There is security guard at the hotel front entrance at night time. Breakfast was alright, more options would be better. Juice machine wasn’t working throughout my three nights stay, unfortunately. I would return to this location if I’m back in Chicago again. Recommend.
