I've been a Honors member for a long time, and the staff is generally kind and polite. That's why I'm truly shocked by the terrible treatment I received from Ms. Robyn. When I simply asked for a late checkout, she began acting rudely, raising her voice. Then, when I pointed out that Hilton always tries to accommodate loyal members' requests, she told me I could stay until 1 p.m. To make matters worse, when I came down to check out (before 1 p.m., anyway), she told me I shouldn't have stayed, lying about what she previously said and continuing to be rude and aggressive. I hope Hilton monitors its employees' behavior more closely, because the company's reputation also depends on this.

The only disappointment was the very basic lobby…the room was spacious and perfect. Love that they have queen not double beds. Definitely the best breakfast I’ve ever seen at a hotel! Sausage, cheese omelettes, and delicious roasted potatoes. My daughter made herself an incredible waffle creation, there were muffins and scones, fruit, hard boiled eggs, juices, I loved the oatmeal station, there was also cereal. It’s so close to the Monroe blue line station, which was super convenient getting to and from the airport. We loved walking over to Millenium Park and it was really convenient to have a target around the corner.

The Good: The location of this hotel is excellent, but the real highlight for our group of 5 adults and 2 children was the staff's ability to colocate us all on the same floor. Coordinating family logistics was much easier because of it. Additionally, the breakfast was great and the 24/7 gym was impressively equipped—a rare find for a downtown hotel. The Bad: As a Gold Hilton Honors member, I was disappointed by the lack of digital integration. The digital check-in was unavailable, which defeated the purpose of a quick, modern arrival. Furthermore, be aware that vehicle parking is an additional expense on top of the room rate, which adds a significant daily cost to your stay. The Ugly: The physical layout was a constant struggle. The elevator lobby and hallways were perpetually cluttered with large linen carts, making it feel like we were competing with housekeeping just to move through the building. Between the lack of digital convenience and the cramped, obstructed common areas, it didn't feel like the premium experience I've come to expect from the Hilton brand. I highly recommend The Palmer House (17 E Monroe St). It’s directly across the street from the Hampton Inn but offers a very different experience for Gold members: • Status Recognition: They have a dedicated Hilton Honors check-in desk and much more reliable digital key functionality. • Wider Layouts: As a historic "Grand Dame" hotel, the hallways and elevator banks are significantly wider. You won't find yourself bumping into linen carts or luggage racks in the common areas. • Group Coordination: They are much better equipped to handle large blocks of rooms due to their massive inventory. • Pro Tip: If you're driving, they offer a "Park & Stay" package that often discounts the parking rate by 50%, which is a huge win for Gold members looking to maximize value.

I can’t recommend the Hampton Inn Majestic enough. It is easily one of the best-run hotels in Chicago. The breakfast is a major highlight—everything was fresh. Unlike many city hotels that struggle with the morning rush, the staff here kept every item perfectly stocked and the entire dining area spotlessly clean. It made for a seamless, stress-free start to every day. What truly sets this place apart, however, is the service with a smile and Good Morning! I'm not normally a morning person until coffee is in hand, but Miss Kay is awesome, sets the tone, and brightens the entire area with positivity. I will be back again and hope the same staff is here!

Robin at the front desk was very rude unprofessional. I arranged for guests to stay at this hotel for work and needed a copy of the hotel stay for expense reports. I called the hotel to get a copy of the receipt sent to me; she was obviously very annoyed by my request and I can hear her complaining as she was hanging up the phone. A few hours went by and I never got the receipt, so I called back and spoke to the same person. She was still very obviously annoyed, despite my not having done anything other than ask a reasonable request. I have worked plenty of customer service in my life, so I understand having a hard day at work, but I was being nothing but patient, understanding, and trying to solve a problem that I did not create. Instead of helping me, she was very combative, dismissive, and annoyed. Thankfully, she transferred me to another employee who was very delightful and was able to simply take a secondary email. I would hate to see what this person's response would be if my issue was more serious. I use this hotel frequently and almost feel like I don't want to use this again in fear of how the front desk would treat guests.
