Positives: great location, clean and comfortable beds (the most important to me!!), friendly employees
Negatives: shower did not drain (so gross and disappointing 😭😭😭) and elevators were very tight and slow to arrive. Very long wait times for an elevator and when it did arrive, we would be packed in with other families. Very uncomfortable. Another time, we just gave up waiting and just walked down the 19 flights instead

Like most other reviews, this Hampton is not up to standards. Beds are squeaky and old. Some chairs in the breakfast area are so worn out that they should be thrown away or reupholstered. There was no hot water in the bathroom at 4pm when we were trying to get ready before going to dinner. Cuts in the carpet in the rooms. One of the 3 elevators is out of order so wait times can exceed 20+ minutes. Some of the other guests were smoking weed in the rooms making the hallways smell disgusting. We barely got any sleep our last night because someone was rudely playing music with deep bass from 9pm until 9am when we left. The only good things about this hotel are location and the staff. The staff is very pleasant and friendly. Management should really update this hotel. It’s a shame that they’ve let this property get so bad.

Absolutely horrible. My husband and I came to town for my cousin’s wedding in mid December which was such a joyous occasion. Unfortunately, pretty much everything about our stay here was awful, but I’m specifically writing this one star review because they have kept my deposit after Months, and every person I spoke to (including the manager) told me I would be getting back within a couple weeks. I’ve called 8 times about it over the last two months with no success, they just told me today that they sent it back to the “wrong card”, saying that they accidentally sent it to the card we used to make the booking, not the one we gave once we were checked in. We scrolled back and went through every single transaction on that card and it’s definitely not there. So $400 extra thrown down the drain, I even tried disputing it with my bank but didn’t win since the hotel told them that they sent it back to me.
In addition to that, the included breakfast gave both of us food poisoning within just a few hours of eating it to and the elevators took a minimum of 20 minutes each and every time, every guest we spoke to on our floor said that they had been waiting for half an hour+. We packed light enough that we were able to take the stairs many flights, but families with lots of bags and children were just stuck there waiting for 30+ mins. If I could give this zero stars, I would. The only positive was that the front desk staff was very friendly and welcoming during the holidays, other than that this place was atrocious and I am unbelievably shocked that they’re keeping a $400 deposit that clearly was supposed to be refunded. Awful.

First time staying here(I choose a new hotel every visit) and overall I’d give it a 4/5. All in all, it’s a nice hotel; great location(like one street away from mag mile/michigan ave), breakfast included, and decent pricing. For 2 nights I paid less than $300 and I really loved that for a spacious king bed room. Bed is comfortable in my opinion. Also, I had some important documents I needed printed and I thought this place had a business center with a printer but they don’t. Angela at the front desk was nice enough to allow me to send them to her to print for me. This place only loses a star because as soon as I checked into my room the toilet has had a consistent flushing problem(not a plumber but I’ve had this problem in apartments before and the toilet handle isn’t catching to allow the toilet to flush). Also, I dropped the thermostat as low as it can go(65F) and it still felt like 70 in the room. Thankfully not blazing hot, but as someone who like to sleep in the cold it was only relatively cool like just barely. Overall, great place and would recommend!

My wife and I stayed here for our Honeymoon and thought it was a perfect place, right in the middle of everything. We really loved Lynette. Robert, and Marcus who were all so interesting and helpful with our rooms and places we should visit. I really wish they are there the next time we are in town to visit because they made our trip fantastic!! Rooms were clean, people were nice, and everything was fast and easy when we had to stay two extra days because our flights got delayed. Will stay again!
