Very nice hotel. Clean, spacious rooms with a great breakfast and great service. Very comfortable rooms and beds. Very nice common areas (lobby, breakfast area, cafe) Many restaurants and activities nearby and within walking distance including Merchandise Mart. I was on the backside of the hotel and it was mostly quiet, but it is downtown with the occasional siren or street noise.

Extremely Disappointing Stay – Poor Room Quality and Nonexistent Follow-Up
I stayed at Embassy Suites Chicago in late October and was shocked by the condition of the room and the hotel’s lack of accountability:
1. Water Leak in Room – The carpet in my room was soaking wet from water seeping out of the shower area. When I reported this to the front desk, they casually told me they were already aware of the issue. Why knowingly assign a defective room to a guest?
2. Empty Promise of Compensation – At checkout, Alma at the front desk offered 10,000 Hilton points as a courtesy. That was on October 29. It is now November 8, and despite daily follow-ups, the points have not been posted.
3. Exhausting Follow-Up Process – I’ve called every day, been put on hold for 20+ minutes each time, only to be told “the manager will call you back.” I even left voicemails. Nothing.
4. Manager Unreachable – Alma told me to call on a Saturday to speak directly with the manager, Harvey. I was kept on hold for 26 minutes only to be told again, “he’ll call you in 30 minutes.” It’s been over 8 hours, and I’ve heard nothing.
This experience reflects poor customer service, lack of integrity, and an unacceptable level of disregard for guests’ time and comfort. Giving a guest a room with known water damage is bad enough, but failing to deliver on a promised courtesy and making a guest chase your management team for over a week is even worse.
Avoid this location unless you enjoy being frustrated and ignored.

We booked this because it was the best value for the money and in a great location. The room was spacious with two separate areas. One was a living space with a couch, television and table/chairs and a sink/counter/mini fridge and microwave and the other was a two bed bedroom with another tv and dressers etc. Personally the pillows are terrible. They are feathery and just flatten to nothing. There was also a bathroom. It had all the basics: towels, soaps, hair dryer, iron/board, a safe, coffee etc. We were able to login to Netflix which was a plus. The phone in our room was not operating properly. They put the info guide on a QR Code you have to scan but there weren't enough details. They did text me and I was able to use that to ask questions but they didnt always respond. We went swimming. They offered a heated indoor pool (it wasnt very warm) it was nice overall and towels were there. Some nasty moldy tiles in the ceiling that should probably be switched out. The free breakfast was wonderful. The variety was good. I am gluten and dairy free so I'm very limited and nothing was labeled. Since its not an allergy I made my best guess on the foods but someone with allergies would be unable to enjoy the offerings. The hotel is beautiful. We enjoyed our stay and if given another opportunity we would probably come back.

I booked and confirmed a 1 King Bed Suite reservation (Room 724) for October 21-24 but we were given 2 double beds. This is a significant issue as the King bed was essential for my family due to a co-sleeping child, who is now having difficulty sleeping.
When I immediately contacted the front desk, I was informed that King beds were unavailable and was promised a room change and upgrade the following day. When I did not receive any communication, I went to the front desk again the following night and was told I would need to come back to the front desk between 2 PM and 5 PM the next day to switch rooms. This mandatory time window is unacceptable, as it severely disrupts my vacation plans.
Furthermore, upon check-in, I only received one room key because their card machine was apparently broken. I was promised a second key would be slid underneath the door, but it never arrived. I had to go to the front desk the next day just to get my second key.
Despite being a 4-star hotel, you did not have toothpaste available when requested, which is a basic amenity for this level of accommodation.
They should have, at the very least, offered a complimentary lunch or dinner coupon to acknowledge and compensate for this severe lack of service.
