Do not go to this hotel until renovations are complete. Stayed here earlier in the week and it was a miserable experience. Half of their elevators are out of order and wait times to get up and down from rooms were outrageous. Did they notify guests of this inconvenience prior to booking? NOPE. Not only that, but they still booked pretty much the entire hotel full knowing that this was the case. People with strollers and wheelchairs were stuck on their floors with nowhere to go because the two working elevators were packed at all times. There were lines of 20-30 people at a time just waiting to go up to their rooms. Folks were livid. DO NOT book here until you are sure repairs are complete. I promise, you will regret it. They will gladly take your money and not even tell you about the renovations. Stay away at all costs. There are plenty of other options in the area. Management should be ashamed of themselves.

We visited a few days after Christmas and before New Year's, so for those planning to visit at that time just realized that it will be very crowded. It wouldn't have been a big deal if they hadn't shut down two of the four elevators for the hotel. Apparently they were doing maintenance. This meant that the whole hotel was relying on two elevators and we wasted lots of time either waiting for very crowded elevators or deciding to walk down twelve flights of stairs. When we brought this to the management's attention, they did give us a late checkout. It seems like poor planning to shut down half the elevators during a very busy time. The breakfast time was very chaotic for most of the mornings. Very long lines. I wish they would have posted that information somewhere on the booking, because we had options and would have chosen another place to stay based on the lack of elevator access.

First the staff was amazing . Second the location was amazing . Now the madness , room was very dusty and lacked enough towels and soap and things were empty , zero toilet paper and no trash bags in cans. We stayed with two minor children. Next the elevators they had 4 and 2 were out of order getting up or down took at minimum 30-45 min. Free drinks you never got both due to this and snacks for kids (marshmallows are not snacks). Food was not bad . Parking we paid $200 extra and when we left they wanted to charge us another $70. No ticket was given for parking and so it took us an extra 45 min to get out of the parking garage holding up traffic. They took a $300 deposit at hotel as well upon check in and then want to charge extras all the time to your card as well on top of it . The view was amazing and convenient to everything as well. Pool was also ICE cold an we were there right after Christmas and it snowed.

When my family and I travel we almost exclusively stay at Embassy Suites. We love the 2 room suites, great for getting our young kids to bed while my wife and I enjoy some quiet time in another room. This particular Embassy Suites though was like amateur hour. From check in we were told bathrooms were closed on one floor and we had to go to another, but those were closed too. Half of the elevators were down, causing tremendous delays to move about. I've never seen such lines for the happy hour or the breakfast, which were both poorly managed and stocked. They didn't clean our room (not known why). It seemed to be very under staffed for the amount of people staying. They also charged a last minute Vegas style resort fee. I didn't know those types of scams happened outside of Vegas. So much more to list. I have a long weekend planned at Embassy Suites in San Diego in May, I hope that one is nothing like the horrible experience we had in Chicago.

This hotel is a masterclass in how to ruin what should be a simple stay. Check‑in took 45 minutes, and only after arriving do you learn about a $25 “resort fee” that they try to justify with a same‑day‑only $25 restaurant credit you can’t realistically use because the “free” happy hour line is 30 people deep. The pool was a disaster—overcrowded, filthy, mud everywhere, barely any towels, and it felt more like a spring break party for kids than anything resembling a 4‑star property. And the building is running on one elevator for 17 floors. Staff casually told us to expect 20‑minute waits, and they weren’t kidding. Breakfast the next morning was total chaos. It took a long time just to get downstairs because of the elevator bottleneck, then conservatively 40 people in line for a “made‑to‑order” omelette. The soda/lemonade machine didn’t work, the bathrooms nearby were closed, half the cereal options were empty, and finding a table was impossible unless you’re watching like a hawk. People were literally sitting on the floor, in hallways, anywhere they could. It was the opposite of relaxing. We went back to the pool afterward, and it had only barely been cleaned since the night before. At this point, the paper‑thin walls, the noise from the bar 12 floors down, and the general chaos everywhere just feel like insult to injury. I’ve stayed at Embassy Suites my entire adult life and have never experienced anything like this. If we didn’t have a ticketed event tonight, we would leave. It’s beyond awful.
