Friendly staff, perfect location, awesome breakfast, 2 free drinks, clean room, and a price that is very competitive. Been here twice and next time I'm in town, I'll bring my family back.

This review is for the 511 N. lounge restaurant I have had better food at a speedway in Gary Indiana. It is absolutely horrendous. I really wondering if I will be my stomach tomorrow morning the order was wrong and within an edible.

I had an extremely unsettling and disappointing stay at this Embassy Suites. From the moment we arrived, the hotel felt unsafe and completely out of control.
There was unrestricted access to the elevators and guest room floors, with no keycard enforcement at all. As a result, several groups booked rooms and then hosted large parties for people who were not hotel guests. Many of these attendees were clearly underage and were openly drinking alcohol, smoking marijuana, and blasting loud music late into the night. Hallways were chaotic and intimidating. It reached the point where the police had to be called, and multiple people were arrested. That alone should tell you how badly this property is being managed.
The overall atmosphere felt more like a ghetto than a hotel that is supposed to represent the Embassy Suites brand. We never felt comfortable or secure during our stay.
To make matters worse, one entire bank of elevators was out of service. This caused extremely long waits just to get to our room, adding even more frustration to an already miserable experience.
And despite all of this, the hotel had the audacity to charge a $25 per day “destination fee.” For what exactly? Broken elevators, unsafe conditions, and police activity in the hallways?
This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. Poor security, poor management, and zero accountability. I would strongly advise anyone to stay elsewhere unless you enjoy chaos, noise, and feeling unsafe during your trip.
The property is old, poorly maintained and filthy. The bathroom was disgusting. The tub was 30 years old, with a cheap, dirty shower curtain, rusted fixtures and cracked caulking. The bathroom floor, tub, and toilet was filthy. The pool is laughably small.
The breakfast food is very low quality. The eggs were disgustingly runny. The bacon was burnt and hard every single day and the sausage was strangely chewy and rubbery. However, the breakfast chef was particularly nice, personable, and very hard-working. He was probably the highlight of our otherwise disappointing stay.
Unfortunately, other staff were brazenly rude. For example, the hotel offers a complimentary drink each day but only from 5:30-7:00pm. We got in a long line at 6:45. My wife kept saying there were too many people and we wouldn’t make it through the line by 7:00. I assured her there was no way they’d make us wait that whole time and insist we pay if it was a few minutes past 7:00. Sure enough, I was wrong. By the time we got to the front at 7:05, they pulled the sign and insisted we pay. We paid over $300 a night for the room and were shocked they’d treat us so poorly over something as trivial as a complimentary drink.
The elevators are “being renovated,” but look like two of the four simply don’t work and are not being repaired. If you love waiting in line 15 minutes every time you want to go to or leave your room, only to then stop at every floor, the Embassy Suites Magnificent Mile is the hotel for you.

The hotel is in a great location and check in and parking was easy. Hotel staff were very nice! However for a four star embassy suites hotel, we were pretty unimpressed. One of the elevators was down which pretty much caused anytime leaving the room to add 10 + minutes. The hotel was pretty rundown and food was average. My biggest complaint was the rooms just felt kinda dirty, there was leftover trash in our room from the last guests and everything looked like it needed wiped off and the hotel just looked like it had been beaten up.
