An absolutely outstanding hotel experience from the moment you walk through the doors. The staff is genuinely welcoming, attentive, and committed to making every stay unforgettable. The rooms are spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed, creating the perfect balance between relaxation and convenience.
And then there are the special cookies — warm, delicious, and the sweetest welcome you could ever receive. They’re more than a treat; they’re a symbol of the hotel’s hospitality and attention to detail.
Every aspect of my stay reflected excellence and care. This is the kind of place that turns a simple trip into a memorable experience. Truly one of the best hotel stays I’ve ever had.

Great hotel in an amazing location. The DoubleTree Chicago – Magnificent Mile is within walking distance of everything: shopping, restaurants, and the lakefront. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the beds are super cozy, and the staff is friendly and welcoming from the moment you walk in. The outdoor pool and terrace are a huge plus, especially during nice weather. Check-in was smooth, and the classic warm cookie is always a nice touch. Overall, a dependable and comfortable stay in downtown Chicago. Highly recommend!

Location was excellent.
Front desk gave me someone else’s room but also gave me a $50 credit for the mix up. Thank you.
Rooms/carpet dated & worn.
Worse pillows I’ve ever slept on. Seriously. I don’t know how you get the good ones that other people in the reviews got but Room 1418 doesn’t have them.
And the cherries on top? First, The sales rep for the timeshare presentation asked how my stay at the hotel was & when I told him about the mix up he said, “It’s The Doubletree. BUT if you buy this timeshare, you won’t have to worry about poor people anymore when you go on vacation.”
I died.
That was mean.
And at the 1.45 hr mark of the presentation, I was told that unless I went up to the Penthouse, I would have to pay full price for my stay. (I had already asked for a low floor hotel room bc i don’t like heights, —they said 14th floor was as low as I could get that day) To which I was told: You can take the elevator up or you can walk. It’s up to you but you gotta do one. TWENTY SOME FLOORS UP!!!
(I did neither and I won’t be staying at another Hilton property again.
App deleted. Dream deferred.
My first stay was as a guest of a friend and this trip was one that I planned for myself. That blew it.
Apparently the Hilton name is mid now- & I am too.
They didn’t want to woo me and make me feel special in the Doubletree but wanted me to spend ALL my money on a “grand” vacation? That’s like trying to sell me a Benz but only letting me test drive a Ford.
Show me & my coins some respect please.

Very disorganized front desk staff. We came for a hilton grand vacation presentation and it was awful. When we checked in our low floor request was not met. Instead, we were assigned to a room that another group was already standing outside of. Amenities in the room (lamp, iron, etc) were not working. The electric outlet in the bathroom didnt work. I have to reiterate the time share presentation was absolutely awful. The hilton grand vacations staff clearly did not work together with the hotel staff to coordinate this event. On top of all of that, parking was $65 a day. You should use SpotHero to find cheaper parking in the city.

My room was comfortable. Bedding was nice, clean and adequate. The heating system is subpar… unable to heat above 70, constantly cycling on and off despite not satisfying the thermostat.
All of the fixtures in the bathroom are unclean. Appear to not have been cleaned with any product or even wiped, in quite some time.
Limited food or coffee available after morning hours. They need full time coffee availablity. It doesn’t cost much to have a coffee urn and sugar, creamer available.
Overall, the location saves them on many counts. I
