  Overall this is our go to place to stay when we visit Chicago. It’s centrally located in a safe, upscale area (there’s a Whole Foods across the street should tell you all) and a high end luxury apartment complex which shares the garage with this hotel. The reason I’m giving less stars is because time and again they don’t refund your money when you have to cancel for legitimate reasons. No credit, no nothing. We spent thousands staying at this hotel over the years and the one time it was supposed to blizzard and my family was down with pneumonia and we canceled our road trip they said their policy does not allow refund unless proof of a flight cancellation. So just a warning if you book a room, and even have a small doubt that you will may cancel, do it well in advance and perhaps they may offer credit toward a future stay and under no circumstances should you check in online bc that absolutely disqualifies you from getting any credit or refund should you wish to cancel afterward. We learned that the hard way, a couple of hundred bucks hard.

  This was perfect for a weekend to see The Phantom of the Opera and travel by train. Close to everything we wanted to do. Service was outstanding! I'm glad I booked it. The only reason it's not 5 stars is because the hotel is a little dated. Overall, very good! Would recommend!

  I would love to give a big shout out to Jerry the manager. My brother has MS and in a scooter, he gets around but it's a little struggle at times. Jerry saw him trying to get his luggage from the car. He not only helped him but took it up to his room. And noticed the difficulty my brother would have with the garage , my brother was able to keep his car out front. So thank you Jerry!!!!!

  Staff was not friendly from the get go, almost seemed annoyed when asking questions about parking, etc. Our room was dirty with hair on the floor, beds had no comforters only sheets, bathrooms had farm style doors that dont close properly leaving no privacy, light fixtures were super rusty. paid the daily parking fee but the parking garage easily filled up leaving us to park in the “overflow” parking 2 blocks away which turned out to be a regular paid parking lot to which i had to pay an addition 50+ a night to park there and was not covered by the hotel fee after being instructed to go there from staff. this was not explained to us prior and when i asked about any type of monetary coverage or reimbursement, i was dismissed by staff, basically i paid for parking that i didn't get to use and paid additional parking with no discounts or anything. Ive stayed in countless hotels and this one was one of the most disappointing ones ive ever been to, save your money go else where

  Great soft product. I only spent a quick overnight stay here, but all the staff was amazing. I walked in the people at the front desk greeted me. They put down whatever they were doing, got me checked in quickly, explained all the amenities and I was on my way to get a night‘s sleep. However, the hard product needs some love. This was my first and last stay here. It’s not like this is a cheap place to stay. They can at least make sure that the furniture in the room is not worn out to the point of being disgusting. The pictures I posted are of the headboard. This is beyond cleaning this is the hotel just needing to replace it. I don’t want the oil from other people’s hair, touching my hair. I was too tired to do anything about it the night I stayed there so I just slept across the bed. But this seems like something basic that makes you wonder how clean the rest of the room was.
