Great location and reasonable cost for what they provide.
The parking was great to have right next to the hotel, and it was reasonably priced to extend our stay so we could walk to and enjoy a Cubs game.

We had such a great time! Great location! The gym was great - all equipment needed for a good workout - an infrared sauna and a whirlpool! Customer Service was great! We will definitely stay here again!

I recently stayed at Hawthorne Terrace for a three-night trip, and while the hotel itself was lovely, my experience started on a very sour note. I had originally booked a four-night stay online and called in to see if I could remove one day at the end of my trip. I spoke with Rhonda, who was incredibly rude and gave me the immediate impression that my call was an interruption. She aggressively asked for my information and then curtly informed me that I would need to call an 800-number to make the change. When I simply asked why she couldn't handle the request, she accused me of yelling and put me on hold after I questioned her aggressive tone. This interaction made me feel so uncomfortable that I was ready to cancel the entire trip. Fortunately, I was transferred to Anna, the General Manager, which turned out to be the best part of the experience. Anna was amazing and highly professional. She explained that because I had booked a special rate, any manual adjustments on her end might cause me to lose that specific promotion. This was completely understandable, and I was grateful for her thorough explanation, as a simple explanation was all I was looking for. Following her advice, I called the 800-number and they were able to remove the day from the end of my trip. Because Anna could sense my discomfort with the situation, she even gave me her personal cell phone number and told me to reach out directly if anything went wrong. Fortunately, I did not have to use it. Thanks to her, I decided to keep my reservation. The actual stay was very good, as I really enjoyed the character of this boutique hotel; it has been beautifully updated and has more of a home-like feel to it. The accommodations were great, and my only real complaint is with Rhonda’s behavior during that first call. Anna’s leadership and the quality of the hotel itself made for a positive visit overall.

I had an amazing stay at Best Western Plus Hawthorne Terrace Hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable—honestly some of the best I’ve slept on while traveling.
The rooms were very clean, and the showers had great hot water, which was perfect after a long day out. Parking was available at the hotel, which was really convenient. It is a bit pricey, but definitely worth it for the convenience.
Unfortunately, I ended up missing breakfast, so I can’t comment on that. But overall, the price was good for the location. Being right in the middle of Boystown made it an amazing spot with plenty to do nearby.
I would definitely stay here again!

Such a mixed experience. Very frequent BW guest here. This hotel has some really standout features…. Both the available in room jacuzzi tub and the shared hot tub in the fitness center were sparking clean and way better than average. The buildings (hotel is spread between 2 buildings) are interesting and somewhat historic and nice looking not cookie cutter cheap buildings. The lobby (and rooms) are smartly decorated and not generic feeling.
Unfortunately, especially if your room overlooks the courtyard, you can literally hear every car going down Broadway and hear every drunk conversation in the courtyard even with all the windows closed. And with a huge gap under the interior door you pretty much hear everything from the hallway too. The rehydrated eggs I had were like porridge and unlike so many other hotels with lame rehydrated eggs this one didn’t provide shredded cheese and a bottle of Tabasco to help doctor them up. The breakfast menu does rotate so I guess that’s a plus but once was enough for me.
We also had persistent wi-fi problems and inoperative A/C. I’m pretty confident they will or already did fix the A/C unit but the uncontrolled,no password, seemingly no bandwidth cap and no firewall WiFi is a reliability and probably security risk.
Really hope the hotel takes on some of the issues we had because you can look at my other reviews, I do NOT enjoy dumping on places just to be a poop. This stay was just not what it should be for the price.
