The Holiday Inn Express Bloomington West hotel is conveniently located off I-55 and I-74 and in close proximity to many area businesses such as Grossinger Motors, State Farm, Shirk Center, Asmark Institute-Agri Center and Rivian Automotive. Also located near our hotel is Heartland Community College, Illinois State & Illinois Wesleyan Universities.
We are just a few minutes from the Bloomington Normal-Central Illinois Regional Airport (BMI) and the Amtrak train station. Bloomington was recently voted one of the five best places in America to golf, as it offers renowned courses such as the Den at Fox Creek and Prairie Vista Golf Course, both within five minutes of our hotel. We are a short drive from Mackinaw Winery as well as Sunset Lake Vineyards and Winery. Families will enjoy our close proximity to various fun attractions for the including Children's Discovery Museum, Miller Park Zoo, Trampoline Parks, Escape Rooms, Virtual Reality Arena and Water Parks.

Coordinator called to confirm in December and was told "oh we cancelled that because we don't take checks anymore". Coordinator was originally told he could pay with a check on arrival when he made the reservation in September. The hotel made no attempt to rectify the situation. Thank goodness he called to confirm everything and fortunately was able to get reservations at a different brand of hotel nearby.

Told them I would be bringing a check to pay for rooms. Followed up in late December just to confirm. They cancelled our reservation because they no longer accept checks - a fact they neglected to tell me. When I asked why I didn't get notified that they don't accept checks or about the pending cancellation, the response was "that was a miscommunication on our part." At this point, they were entirely booked for the weekend. They made no attempt to rectify the situation, had no care for the kids. Instead, I was told "there's no use getting mad now because there's nothing we can do about it." Imagine what would have happened if I did not call to confirm. Possibly the worst customer service interaction I have ever had. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS

The AC unit had defective controls so the temperature couldn't be set. The bathroom door was damaged by previous guests; still usable, just in poor condition. Hair dryer had rust on blower grate. Again, usable, but in tired condition.

Customer services need to be worked on, front desk person who happened to be the owner was very rude and difficult to work with. I called to get towels taken up to my room and I was told I had to come down to get them, no big deal but where is the room service? They said they offered late check out and when I asked to do so we were denied to have a late check out and were rushed to hurry up and leave. Called multiple times to our room and cleaners walked in and didn’t wait until we were even up to open the door. Simply just the worst hotel experience ever I will make sure to relay this experience to anyone I know coming into Bloomington IL.
