Bed was slanty little bit but me don’t think that is all beds, just that one. air conditioner sounded like river. But cause me turned it up. Nice hotttel, me liked it. I left my blankey, staff was niceee and got it for me.
Checking out today. This has been an excellent place to stay. Staff is very accommodating and friendly. The breakfast is outstanding considering it’s included in the cost of the room. We usually stay next door, but had a great experience with Holiday Inn Express in Portland so we thought we’d give this a try. It was $50 a night less than the hotel we usually stay at. ADA room was well appointed (big shower bench, roll in shower, lots of solid grab bars). Business travelers are doted on with a M-Th night light meal and beer/wine. We needed 4 extra pillows because I forgot the sleeping wedge- they arrived in minutes. The staff here is just really great!

We had a great stay at the Holiday Inn Express with special recognition to Sultan and Sierra at the front desk who made us feel welcome and at home from the moment we walked in the door. The other we enjoyed was the breakfast area and the excellent service by Madera and Andrew who kept the breakfast area stacked, clean and well managed. We would have appreciated a better selection of channels on the TV other than that I stay with excellent.

I can’t say enough good things about this Holiday Inn Express. This is definitely the best place to stay if you are in Kootenai County. I called them early in the morning seeking overnight accommodations because my hot water heater went out. Sierra was very understanding, and she was gracious enough to let me check in early because of my unfortunate circumstances. She also gave me a late check out because my replacement water heater still wasn’t on the day of my departure. Boston added a third night to my reservation with no hassle because my hot water heater still wasn’t finished. All of the staff that I encountered were super kind, to both me and my dog. They gave her lots of loving, and the woman on night shift (sorry I forgot her name) also gave my dog a goodie bag full of treats and toys! The breakfast selection here is great. They serve complimentary nightly dinner, with soda, beer, and wine, for those who drink. They also serve delicious fresh baked cookies every night for guests. The pool, hot tub, and gym is open 24/7, which is awesome because most places kick you out around 10 p.m. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. I HIGHLY recommend staying here if you need lodging.

Even though the rooms are nice, and the young guys who helped us check in were professional and kind, there is an over-riding reason why this hotel gets one star:
The front desk manager.
I called in two days before our booking and spoke to someone who was working the afternoon/evening shift saying we would need to cancel our reservation. They said we would be able to cancel but would need to speak to their manager to get the cancelation approved and they weren't there so to call back tomorrow. Ok, no problem.
I called the next day and was told that, once again, there was no manager there, and that they would need to approve the cancelation, but usually the cancelations had to be done by 7am the day before check-in, so it might be too late. They told me that the manager only works the AM shift, they would make a not on the computer that we were trying to cancel, and a note for the manager to call us back the next morning, the day of our check-in.
The next day, it was 8am, and still no call back from the front desk manager, so I called again. I asked to speak to the manager, but the person who answered the phone wouldn't let me speak to them and just kept asking what it was about. So, I explained the situation. They said I didn't need to speak to a manager, and that anyone who answers the phone at the front desk can help me cancel a reservation. Further, she said that under no circumstances were we eligible for a refund, even if we had done it by 7am the day before check-in. Since that contradicted all info I had gotten up till that point, I asked to speak to the manager again. She said no, anyone can handle this issue. I asked again, then she finally admitted she was the front desk manager. I asked why she hadn't identified herself from the beginning and she repeated herself saying anyone can handle this issue. (not the point). She also accused me of lying saying I hadn't called in because there was no note in the computer about my previous calls.
So due to all this, I said she should properly train her staff if everything she was saying was true. Then she pretended I was disrespectful for giving her this feedback. No. What's disrespectful is you pretending they are properly trained when they've all obviously been told a manager needs to handle cancelations. There would be no reason for staff to say that otherwise. Or, alternatively, the manager hasn't shown them how to do cancelations, or she has but can't get them to follow her instructions. After speaking face to face with the other staff, I sincerely doubt it's them that are the issue here.
No matter what, she's failing at her job. She was disrespectful on the phone, was speaking very rudely, interrupting me constantly.
I hope someone from corporate sees this and listens to the phone call from 10/4 at about 8am. She needs demoted or let go. She's not cut out for customer service.
