You know—sun, splash, maybe a little relaxation. Instead, I got a pool that felt like it was filled straight from a melted glacier. One toe in and my soul briefly left my body. By the time I made it waist-deep, I was rethinking every decision that led me here. Kids jumped in once and instantly aged three years from shock. Even the pool floaties looked like they were trying to escape. I kept waiting for my body to “get used to it”—spoiler alert: it never did. This wasn’t refreshing; it was punishment disguised as leisure. On the bright side, if you ever need to preserve fish or test your survival skills, this is your spot. But for a relaxing swim? Bring a wetsuit and a therapist. Would I come back? Only if they heat that pool—or start handing out hot cocoa instead of towels.

We had to book our room at 1:00 am because we had just tried to stay at the Americinn down the road and it was dirty and had bugs. When we told her how things went at the Americinn, the front desk gal (I wish I had gotten her name) even walked us up to our room to make sure it was satisfactory! The breakfast was wonderful as well. Everything was fresh and clean! For just $50 more my daughter and I felt like we went from a roadside dump onto into a luxury hotel. Everything was so clean and comfortable!
