  Positives- location is good. Beds are good. I got a good nights sleep x2. People working there seemed friendly. I really look for the positives in a hotel before the negative… stay at a lot of hotels across the country. Over 150 nights a year. Unfortunately this IHG hotel is not at the top. EVERYTHING is worn out at this property. Reminds me of a airport hotel. 2009 probably new and nothing appears to have been done to keep this property clean and up to date. Wallpaper is scratched up, carpet in hallways and flooring throughout is worn and even dirty in appearance. No attention to any detail on maintenance and cleanliness. For example one of the handles on the side entrance door is loose. The whole place screams out “Renovate me— I’m tired.”— in the rooms- clean enough to sleep, analog seeming cable tv… fine for 2009.😂. But still a feel of old furniture and carpet that is worn. The hallway, main entrance, stair, and elevator flooring was really unkept and actually dirty looking. Not a feeling of pride in keeping or ownership of this property at all. Breakfast- they try. Was there on a weekend—The place was full so by 9:00 there was not much of anything left. I grabbed a cup of coffee and a banana and called it good. They couldn’t keep the cinnamon rolls coming— they’re good, but I probably shouldn’t eat those anyway😂. For the price— I would say that we could do better— but it’s tough in Dubuque. Have stayed at other properties here and the bar is pretty low. If this place isn’t on cue for an update or rebuild soon, I’d wonder why not. It’s almost like that’s the plan and they’re letting the maintenance go for now… at least I hope that’s the case. Love staying at Holiday Inn Express but unfortunately this one is pretty rough.😔

  This is without a doubt the worst Holiday Inn Express I have ever stayed at. Beds were comfortable but that’s about it. Room isn’t the cleanest, furniture is outdated, especially the TV’s. The TV’s are old and have terrible quality and need replaced. Don’t even get me started on the breakfast. Breakfast was from 7 to 10 AM. I went down at 9 AM, and everything was gone. Some things eventually got replaced, but it took too long, and there were very little hot items available for breakfast. When the eggs were brought out they were cold. Hallways are very tattered and unclean. This hotel is in desperate need of a remodel. If I was in a pinch I would’ve been okay with this stay, but I expect better from Holiday Inn Express.

  The hotel was okay. In our room their was food in the fridge from the last person before us. The shower had a gross smell & the water didn't drain. The walls are very thin. We could hear conversations from the people in the room next door. The hot tub was closed and if we had known that when we booked a week prior to our stay we would have went elsewhere. The pool area gets very loud, you can't have conversations. The pool had stuff floating in it. There wasn't much of a selection at breakfast & the juice & water machine was broke. It is included in the stay though. We made the most of our stay and thankfully my kids still had fun but we wouldn't come back to this hotel.

  Such a comfortable hotel and conveniently located. Bedding felt like I was swallowed in a soft, fluffy cloud. Great accommodating staff. Always super friendly. And did I tell you about the breakfast? So many items and cooked to perfection! No one can say they left there hungry. I can hardly wait to return. The manager is awesome!!!

  Dirty, carpet filthy, elevator looks like you are staying at a homeless shelter. Needs a massive overhaul.
