Be careful when booking here. We made our reservation two weeks in advance and drove seven hours to get there, only to be told at check-in that someone on the hotel staff had canceled our reservation because we were “underage.” We are in our 50s. We received no phone call, no email, and no notification whatsoever — just a canceled reservation on a weekend when multiple sports tournaments were in town and nearly every hotel was fully booked (including this one). To make matters worse, they still charged our card. We were told the charges would be reversed, but that has not happened. Because everything was booked, we had to scramble to find another room and ended up paying $100 more. I was also told the manager would call me first thing the next morning. It has now been two days, and I am still waiting. Very disappointing experience and extremely poor customer service..

The pool area is amazing. It has an old school feel and is kept up well. I loved it. Stayed in Jacuzzi Suite and it was a much larger suite than I anticipated. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was what you would expect, but better than most other places. There is an Old Chicago Pizza and Tap House adjoining the hotel. Staff was friendly. I stay at a lot of hotels and this one is on my list of those I'd go out of my way visit again.

If i could give less than one star i would. Kids running up and down the hallway screaming and hotel staff, while apologetic is not controlling the situation

Has become so unwelcoming and the people at front desk are rude, uncooperative, and robot like. Will not return again. To strict and not child friendly

My fiance and I originally booked the Best Western for our wedding. Everything seemed fine and we were over two years out from our date. We picked it for our wedding because it was an all in one location including catering and bartending. At just under a year out, we get an email to connect with the Best Western about new and exciting news. My fiance meets up with them to find out that their caterer is quitting. Instead of living up to their end of the contract and finding a new caterer with a bartender, they fobbed it off on us. They gave us a short list of possible vendors that they approved of. If the caterer did not have a bartender, we would have had to find that as well. When we questioned about the possibility of getting our deposit back, they told us it was non-refundable. I pointed out to them that they voided out their contract and that they needed to give us our deposit back. They finally stepped up and found a caterer. We thought the situation had been resolved. A couple of weeks later as we were working out the menu and drinks, we found out the caterer they had selected did not have an Event License. So if we wanted to have alcohol at our wedding we would have had to obtain one. That was when they told us an Event License would cost between $800 to $1200. We were furious. We had explained what we wanted and expected out of them from the beginning. We pushed back and explained that this was not what was originally promised when we sat down originally with them. Their suggestion after that was to put a keg at Old Chicago and making our guests walk over there everytime they wanted something other than soda. Once again, we pointed out that they were not living up to what they originally promised. They said after reviewing the contract, it did not state what caterer they used, only that they had one. They felt that they did not need to provide one with an Event License. After a couple months of fighting back and forth with them we were so disgusted that we just wanted to be done with them. We started looking around and found a new venue available for our date and found a caterer that was available as well. When we had everything nailed down, we told the Best Western that we were canceling our wedding and that we were demanding our deposit back, stating that they failed to live up to their end of the contract. They said that they had fulfilled their end and refused to refund our deposit. So for anybody looking to have their wedding there, plan on them failing to fulfill their promises and do not expect to get your deposit back when they do.
